How is everyone doing? I think winter wants to hang on for us. We are on the edge of the cold front - our neighbours in Alberta enjoyed some really nice temperatures while we hoover around the zero to + 5 Celsius....0 -

We returned to winter last night. We woke up to maybe an inch of snow and freezing temps. Too cold to stay at the park. I came home and did 2 more miles with Leslie. Missing the warmer temps already.0 -
We had snow on the ground this AM and I had to scrap ice off my car.
Got a a nice 2.65 miles in on the treadmill this morning.0 -

Im a newbie here. My mother in law gave me some Leslie dvds and I was delighted to see there was a group created for it. i would like to do the challenge and I see everyone sets their own goal for the month. Could you help me maybe find an acceptable goal for the remaining part of the challenge? I do her workouts on and off and I am really wanting to start moderately.
Any suggestions?0 -

Hi and welcome. Why not aim for maybe say 20 miles for the month. Aim for a mile a day...15 minutes for a Leslie mile.
I do not have a clue on your activity level or physical capabilities so take my suggestion with a grain of salt.
Walk strong!

hey pinky, I use ice, my brace and lots of stretching. It has been a long slow road but if I can avoid surgery it will be worth it!

Tha411hun - I agree with PinkyPan1's suggestion of just aiming for a mile a day for now. Last month I started on Mar 11, with that goal, and it worked for me. I know many here do much more, but I think they have been doing it for a while. The main thing with goals is to aim for something doable, and then you can raise the bar as time goes on. Now I sometimes do 1.5 miles (I put on a 2 mile walk, and work it until it hits the 1.5 mile mark, then cool down through the remainder), or 2 miles. I am getting stronger every day.
For this, my 2nd month, I only put down for 35 miles in 30 days, because I may want a day off of exercising, but I am also trying to incorporate other types of exercising as well.
Good luck with whatever you choose, but these challenges are very effective in making you (me) accountable. (It's all about establishing new habits.)1 -

You could try what I did. I tracked my miles for a month and then set my goals for 5 miles on top of that. So if in a normal month I walked 35 miles My goal was 40 miles. Then slowing increase it over the months.
Welcome to the group.
