I tried LCHF in the past and lost great weight and felt very good. I had one day where I went overboard and gave into my slowly disappearing carb cravings and caved. Then I gained water weight back and felt terrible and quit. I want to get back into it and succeed. Please add me, send me start up grocery list and suggestions. Would really appreciate it

Welcome to the group.
My groceries consist of meats, eggs, full fat dairy (cheese, butter, whip cream), coconut (oil, cream and shreds), nuts, avocado, and veggies. I add some other foods but I skip sugary foods, starches and grains as a general rule. I eat a bit of fruit but not much.0 -
Thank you
How do you guys handle going out to eat? How about bars and drinking socially?0 -
I tend not to eat out often due to celiac disease but for most it seems not difficult. A meat with a side of veggies and a salad is a good way to go. It's what I would order. Others could have a bunless burger, eat the toppings off of a pizza, order seafood and butter.
I would avoid pasta dishes, rice dishes, and foods with a glaze.
Drinking? I'll have wine, maybe a whiskey, and diet cola is I want a soda. Usually I just stick to water and coffee.0 -
I usually order meat and veggies any time going out... One of my favs is an amazing burger joint we have and I order a side salad with a cheese burger pattie on side... I eat mayo with my burgers so I use mayo as the dressing and chopped up burger pattie and it taste just like a burger..
As far as drinks I have to have my drinks on weekends and to be able to continue with this diet I had to adjust my drinks to fit in. I have vodka (any clear liquor) water and lemon/lime juice. I first tried it with the "zero cal squirt flavoring" and this caused major cravings for me anything that has a sweet taste causes this for me. No at first it didn't taste great but I had a choice to make and I didn't want to give up might weekend drinks... Now the flavor is good for me. No more need for sweet drink0 -
Going out to eat: Salads with no croutons or wonton strips or whatever starch they like to add, burgers minus the bun, side salads, fruit or veggies instead of fries with meat entrees.
So for example, at Culver's I get the double deluxe burger and immediately toss the bun and eat the rest with a fork. Or I get the fried chicken with coleslaw and green beans. At Chipotle I get a chicken bowl with no beans or rice but with fajita mix, salsa, sour cream, cheese, guac, and lettuce. Wendy's is really good about "no bun" orders. Jimmy John's has the unwich (lettuce wrapped sandwich).0 -
Welcome back!
Are you on Pinterest? There's a ton of resources on there for keto/LCHF. I've seen startup grocery lists like you mentioned. My groceries are similar to @nvmomketo, though I buy more stuff for the rest of the family!
