Wow April already. Summer is just around the corner. April means I am starting to work on the garden weather permitting and enjoying wine on the deck. I need to swap the wine for water for a while. I hope April brings all the lushes good times.

    I had a 0 last night....APRIL FOOLS! :D

had 2 glasses of wine. Something similar today and this weekend. The husband is having a horrible stressful time at work and it's affecting me too..going to try to stay positive, exercise and moderate.

Great job on the moderating Robin, Ashley and Sydney!

I just got back from the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle where I saw a specialist as a follow up of my meningitis I contracted from an ear infection last fall. Good news- I do not have a thinning of the skull by the middle ear, so no surgery is needed. The infection most likely entered the bloodstream after the ear drum broke via a broken blood vessel. From the bloodstream it entered the brain.

    Yay!

    Great news Gary!!!!
No moderation for me this week....
    Monday-2 glasses of wine
    Tuesday-5 cocktails
    Wednesday-lots of wine
    Thursday-6 beers....:noway: a whole six pack!!!
Friday-not sure, rum cocktails probably. Lenny doesn't get in until 745ish, home by 830ish?? So it will either be an early night or a late one...all depends on how he is feeling

    Good news Gary.

I earned my card this weekend. I have no idea how much I drank. Friday I was up till after 2am. Saturday we had brunch around 10:30 and I had a cocktail. Then stopped for a beer on the way home. Then had beers at the memorial service, then had some drinks at a birthday party, then had people over..... We pretty much drank all day. Yesterday we had beers at bowling and never really stopped till bed time. I am EXHAUSTED today. I love having company, but glad to see them go. One more guest only Thursday night and then we are good for the rest of the month. I'm hoping April will bring some moderation. I'm really not drinking till Thursday. I don't even feel like it.

I'm exhausted just reading that Ashley!
I had 2 glasses of wine Friday, but Saturday turned into all day drinking. Worked out in the morning but had wine at lunch and never really stopped til bed. I'm thinking 2 bottles. Shocking I didn't feel too bad yesterday. I had 1 beer.
I got on the scale...up a pound from vacation. Time to get back on track

Syd- only up one pound- not too bad! I am neither gaining or losing. If I can gain some control in the evenings the pounds will come off. The weather here in Washington is improving so I am getting some calorie burn working in the yard.

Was hoping to burn those calories by working in the yard this weekend. As we surveyed what needed to be gathered up and hauled off, Doug stepped off the patio and tweaked his knee so nothing really got done. I sipped all day both days. I am stressed too.

I had 1 glass of wine since I opened it to make spaghetti sauce. I exercised and ate well. Up 2 pounds this morning. WTF!? :s

could it be sodium Syd? I could go up 4 pounds after a salty meal and it would take about 2 days of seriously clean eating to get rid of it.

I agree with water weight Syd...give yourself a few days!!!
We had a fun weekend and lazy....I was super hungover Saturday. I went to Maui Brewing Co after work to fill up some growlers and kill sometime until Lenny got home from Oahu. I ended up having two beers, then another 2 drinks before Len got home, then 2 shots and a couple more drinks. I haven't been that hungover in a while!!! So we just kind of hung around the condo. Of course the day started with bailey's in my coffee and continued.
Sunday, we got the kayak out for it's maiden voyage. Putting on and taking it off the roof wasn't super fun but I think we have it down and I am really looking forward to getting out again.
Monday-2 coronas and 1 small glass of wine
Not sure about tonight, we don't really have anything to drink at the house. I have to go to the market, so not sure if I am gonna pick up some wine or not???
I REALLY need some workouts. I took last week off to baby my knee and so far this week I have been too lazy to get out of bed...well not lazy but I have been sleeping sooooo good and have been so comfortable and days like that I hate to ruin it by getting out of bed early  We did intend on going for a walk last night but it was super humid...maybe tonight???
    Have a great day kiddos!!!!

Thanks girls! Yeah, I'm hoping it's water weight. I'm going to stay off the scale for a while and just try to focus on my diet and exercise.
1 glass of wine. My allergies have been insane this week so I'm not as active as I would like. I'm going to push through them today and get some work in.

Hello! I'm new to this group. Hope I'm putting this in the right area... I'm from Southern Cali and I'm a mom to a two year old boy. I work full time from home and the weekends were made for drinking. Also the weeknights. So how the hell do we lose weight and still indulge?? I'm so stuck.

Hey Kitty!!! Welcome! Once I figure it out I'll let you know  Really, for me it was always a glass or two of red wine during the week and plenty of exercise so the weekends were off limits, but lately I have not been doing real good on my moderation or exercise!!! I'm super jellz that you get to work from home!!!!

Monday-2 coronas and glass of red
Tuesday-2 pineapple-mango vodkas and 1 glass of wine

I don't see not drinking for the rest of the week. I REALLY need to get my *kitten* together and get some exercise in!!!

Hi Kitty! I try to balance my week days out so I leave extra calories to drink (and eat more) on the weekends. Welcome. I love this group!

    Monday - 0

Tuesday - ended up having 3 ciders because Eric went to happy hour with a client. I don't know why I feel the need to drink if he does, but so be it. Plus we got our media plethora of stuff fully hooked up with sound and everything Sunday, and now our DVD/Netflix box isn't working at all. So I was mad, threw the TV remote (broke it) and was mad so opened the 3rd.

    Wednesday - 0

Tonight will be several as my friend is passing through from St. Louis. We're going to do buti yoga first which is like fast paced yoga with loud music and lights. Should be interesting.

    Oh that yoga sounds fun!!

I've had a couple drinks each night this week but last week I didn't have any during the week! Pretty proud of that. Guess this week hasn't been so great. Lots of vet oncologist appts for my pup and a sick kiddo and hubs working late every night. Just gotta unwind.

Welcome Kitty - your little guy is adorable! and as Kate said - if I figure out how to combine weight loss with drinking I could make millions!! :#

Kate - No offense, but I found it amusing that the Hawaii-living girl is jealous of the work-from-home girl....I'm so jealous of both of you, you have no idea!! I'm heading out to work this morning in 20 degree temps - ugh!! >:) Hope your knee is feeling better!!

Ashley - I've never heard of that kind of yoga - I could probably get into that, regular yoga is kinda slow for me... I know what you mean about the hubby drinking, for me it seems when Ron (my husband) has a drink, it's like the green light for me to drink - WTH?? Like I need his permission...weird but true... :s:s

Well, we skipped out on the yoga. I wanted to do it, but it was at 6:30-7:30 which would have meant leaving Eric with the kids during dinner, bed prep and bedtime for Langston. Plus then we'd have had to wait till nearly 8 to eat and drink. Maybe next time....

    Monday - 0
    Tuesday - 3
    Wednesday - 0
Thursday - 3 of us drank 3 bottles of wine so I'll say 4 glasses and a cocktail I did not need. Sleepy today.....
Friday - I'm going to try to keep it to 4 or less. Maybe I'll make cocktails so I'm conscious of how many drinks I'm having.

Hello my dearest lushes. This is going to be a really bad weekend. I am heading down to So Cal this afternoon to put my dad's ashes next to mom's. That part doesn't bother me. The having to interact with my brothers has me sooooo stressed out. My daughter was supposed to meet me and be a buffer but now she won't be there until Saturday morning leaving me to fend for myself at dinner Tonight. She just told me to have a drink or four. I won't be doing any driving so I guess I will. Doug is staying home with the boys. we haven't had a chance to find a new place for Bodi so it was just easier if he stayed home with him. the Bodster really hasn't recovered from the Christmas week nightmare. (Which I believe is causing some of my stress too.) I think I need to go visit Kate and get some sunshine.

Welcome Kitty this group was started a long time ago because a few of us got tired of being totally bashed by health nuts if we mentioned a drink or two. this is a no judgement zone and we are here to support each other no matter what. I hope you stick around.
It may take you awhile to get to know who is who. I am known Mama Lush or Robin.

Welcome kitty! It's a great group...glad you found us. :drinker:
Hang in there Robin. I'm a stress/emotional drinker too. Hopefully all goes smoothly.
I had a 0 last night. Wednesday I over did it with the wine. Sometimes if I have a good workout I end up allowing myself more drinks than I should. Speaking of that workout...I'm still so sore! Pilates kicks my a $$!!
I'm going to moderate all weekend and get in some good exercise. I know, I sound like a broken record. If I say it enough maybe it'll happen!
    TGIF lushes!

Thanks guys for the welcome, I'm glad to have found you! Totally need a judgement free zone because here I am frustrated about not losing weight so I have a drink to feel better. Oops! All week even though I've had a drink or two each night I've actually been close to or under calories... not that it seems to have helped! And now it's the weekend and my BFF is coming over so it's all about to go to *kitten*. She got popsicle molds, rum, Kahlua and soda for Dirty Pirate Popsicles! I'm going to attempt to eat good and not have too many drinks and/or popsicles. Good luck this weekend everyone!!

OMG! I take that back, I guess it's working, I lost two pounds since last week!! I'm doing a freakin happy dance right now! I had no idea, wasn't weighing myself because I didn't want to feel disappointed since I don't feel any thinner. Ok, now I have to not blow it this weekend!

Kitty well done on the weight loss and welcome to the group.

I'm having a bit of a focus on fat loss at the moment after a fairly lushy few weeks. Right now I want to reach my goal more than I want a nice cold glass of prosecco.....just! So I'm aiming to get through this weekend with no alcohol. Whilst I know I can drink in moderation and lose fat, I also know I get results quicker if I don't. It helps I'm bribing myself with a pair of new trainers when I reach my goal. They are sitting in their box in the wardrobe waiting. I'm such a trainer *kitten*!

I earned my lush card again this weekend. Eric went out with friends Friday and so of course i decided to drink a bit with the neighbor. Neighbors came back over for a fire Saturday night and yesterday there was booze at Daphne's friend's birthday party, so that was fun. I am worn out from the weekend and will be racking up a few 0's. Hopefully stay dry till Thursday when I have work happy hour.

I survived. I had a lot of wine, vodka, procsecco and stupid fruity cocktails. Brothers were what I expected. The service turned out better than I expected. (nothing official just us all singing a meaningful song for him) And I had a great time with my granddaughters. I did however sleep on a crappy hotel sofa bed and now I can barely move. Take care lushes.

Glad it wasn't too bad, Robin.
Mixed bag this weekend...Friday I moderated pretty well. Saturday I drank more than I should have. 0 yesterday. It rained all weekend which made me very lazy.
Will get in a good workout today and another 0. Jury duty tomorrow :|
