Under 100 days, gotta get in gear!

Hey ladies,
So I am usually active with my Fit Body boot Camp *think HIIT workouts, 30 min intense* However, I have been doing PT this past month for a torn labrum/FAI/IT band stuff (Yikes!) So I am a bit more limited on what I can do on the lower half of my body and have had to put my membership on hold until my ortho releases me.
I am officially under 100 days now until my wedding! July 9th is the big day. My lack of workouts this past 1.5 months haven't helped, nor has the giving up on eating right (i'll be fixing that this weekend when I restock my house with good health stuff!).
Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried 'Bridalicious Boot camp'? Or really, any other at home workouts that you really enjoyed? I read a lot of great reviews on Amazon about the bridal boot camp and found it for 5$ on Ebay, so figured I would give it a shot.
I am thinking long term as well here, but lets be honest, right now my short term goal is to feel healthy and in shape on my wedding day/honeymoon.
I am 5'10.5, CW: 170 Ultimate Goal weight: Right around 160 -2/3# at most ( I was down to 145 about 1.5 yrs ago and it was too small for me, even doctor agreed that I should be high 150's to mid 160's).

I did Billy Blanks tae bo that I enjoyed, but had issues with resistance bands breaking and a lot isn't much without resistance. I currently use more Jillian Michaels, I prefer ripped in 30 to 30 day shred because I like the no more than 30 sec on a specific exercise. That said, I think you can get the full 30 day shred for free off of youtube if you can workout off a computer screen or hook your computer to your tv. But these are still kind of high intensity if you're not supposed to be doing that stuff...
Maybe pilates would be something to help with toning, but something less high impact while you're recovering.
Exciting being down to the last few months! I'm 3 weeks behind you.0 -
Yoga, pilates is good.
Billy Blanks is good.
Insanity program is tough but gets good results.
Never under estimate the power of walking either.0 -
I tride the bridalicious' bootcamp tonight and it was actually a great workout! It's 5 min warm up, 30 mins interval workout and then 5 min cool down (disc 1 anyway) looking forward to see what my results are in 90 days!0
-
Cool. Keep the group posted how it goes.0
-
Do they have post bride boot camp?!
I can see me slacking off on the honeymoon and needing to lose!
0 -
I don't think they do, but you could of course just do the discs again. There are 8 discs total and it is supposed to be over the course of 90 days. So we will see how each disc varies!0

I just looked at my Day Counter and I'm at 154 days...I can't imagine being at under 100!
I'm curious about your bridal boot camp video too! Hope you are still liking it!
I've got some old Tae Bo too and love Jillian Michaels--I own several of her DVDs I often forget that I have those DVDs and maybe need to remember more frequently, my problem is I live in a condo and there is a nice older lady that lives below me--I don't think she'd appreciate the jumping around above her or at least I am worried about if she would or not, if only I could find a place to do my home workouts and not worry about that!

I am 14 days to go....motivation is gone!!!0
-
Aaaargh, I'm on 49 days and am struggling to stay on track! Don't want to sabotage my efforts now!!0
-
@MsMarlaJean , I did the Bridal Bootcamp video 5x last week and I actually really enjoy it. I still have to modify some of the exercises bc I cant do squats/lunges right now, but I just do ab stuff or hip strengthening during that time frame. I am nice & sweaty when I am done that's for sure. The trainer is pretty cheesey -he shouts out stuff like Sweating for the wedding and some other corny stuff, but it really isn't bothersome, lol. The nice thing is that it isn't about pace or keeping up with the 3 girls on the DVD, its about how many quality reps in each set. 30 Mins does fly by.
I am only weighing myself in bi-weekly Mondays bc I get too obsessed or caught up on a number, but I know I worked out Saturday and my arms are still a wee sore this morning!
If you look on Amazon you can get a brand new Bridalicious Bootcamp DVD set for 5$ or under. It has 8 discs. I am still on disc 1.
88 days to go!!!
@purebells --you probably have so much other stuff going on with last minute preps its hard to stay focused & motivated!
@fitfor30th-- I just keep thinking about the Honeymoon to keep me going!!

150 days to go! AHHHHHHH!!!
Sorry, lost it for a second
I may go and check out the bride dvd on Amazon...how's it going? Still doing well @Rhiannon0816 ? I was until April got here and this month

@MsMarlaJean , I really do enjoy the video. I have only done it 1x this week tho as it was a busy schedule w/ physical therapy and some other planned things, so a little bummed about that. I am going to try doing each disc for a week and a half and move up to the next one so I can get through all 9 discs! I personally think if you are looking for a workout at home, for 5$ on amazon, you cant beat it.
Oh, and PS, I here you about April, my eating has just not been the best at all. I need to focus, focus, focus. I have a feeling the closer we get to our 'big day', focusing will be harder & harder.
So thankful I found you ladies who are going through the same thing!!0 -
93 days. Yikes! I'm getting back on track with diet, but not the gym and really need to put in some effort. I would really like my arms to have a little less flab.1
-
WHOA! 93 days @brisingr86 and @Rhiannon0816 only 74-75 more days right?? I'm so excited for all of you getting so close!!!
and @purebells so anxious to hear/see how your wonderful day went! it was this past weekend wasn't it?
and @fitfor30th you are almost at the month marker with 33 days to go!! WOW!
Oh and Sarah, I hear ya on the arm thing, I REALLY would like a little more definition in my upper arm, I'm not a big fan of my upper arms, gonna see about adding more body weigh strength into my workouts for the next 136 days! I am not anxious to get under 100 days, it seems the closer I get the faster the time goes!!0 -
I have Bridealicious Bootcamp and its a pretty good workout. I do find the workouts a bit repetitive, though. I haven't gotten through them all, yet. I need to combine with other workouts to keep from getting bored. Honestly, I thought Bridealicious would have more of a "cheese" factor (think original Buns of Steel with Greg Smithey haha) but its actually pretty good and a serious workout. The trainer is likeable and decently motivating. I like that it gives modifications to the workouts. I do like the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30 DVDs, as well.0
-
I have been doing it now for a bit and haven't gotten too bored, the minimal cheese factor hasn't bothered me too much! I have been release to go back to the gym w/ modifications & low impact, so I actually started back at the gym this past week, so getting back into that and havent been doing my DVD as much. WOW do I feel the difference tho!
-- 66 days ladies...it seems like i just started this post a week or two ago! Hope everyone's planning is going smoothly, I feel like I've been MIA the past week or so...Its been busy. My Bridal shower is on Saturday. EEK!0 -
I have 99 days until our wedding!1
-

How is everyone else doing?0 -
Hi Ladies, its been SO LONG, almost 2 months (SO sorry) I had a set back with my hip but am doing better and didn't gain any weight so feeling good! I have 8 days until the wedding! SO excited, its finally feeling REALLY REAL! I hope everyone has been well and planning has been going great too! @MsMarlaJean I love the new picture btw!1
-
Sorry to hear about the set back, but glad it didn't derail weight maintenance. Hope the last 8 days go smoothly and you have a wonderful wedding. I'm 28 days. I'm sure it's going to fly by. Don't forget to come back and share some pics after the wedding!1
-
Yikes sorry to hear about the hip! WOW 8 days! HOW EXCITING!!!
Thanks about the Pic...I love how they turned out!
28 days?!?! Woo-HOO! @brisingr86 I'm so anxious to see your pics too!0 -
Licensed to wed! Fiance and I went and got our marriage license this morning. Getting more real every day. Meeting with venue tonight to work on menu and finalize some details. Just in case, Best wishes to @Rhiannon0816 this weekend. Hope everything goes smoothly!
It's funny, my fiance is probably more on top of the count down than I am.1 -
Wishing you all the best for the BIG DAY! Enjoy every moment0
-
WOO-HOO @brisingr86 ! I that "Licensed to Wed" may have to use it!
Best Wishes to @Rhiannon0816 hope to see pics of your big day!
I think at 64 days to the wedding I am finally at the beginning stages of stressing myself out! not so much about wedding stuff but all of the sudden out of nowhere we are in the process of buying a house! We were going to wait a couple years before doing this, but the perfect situation came up and we are getting a SMOKIN' deal on a small 3 bedroom...so on top of everything else! AHHHH!
In other under 100 day stuff I had to reschedule makeup trial because one of my Bridesmaids is sick, I'm meeting with my sound technician/Bridesman at reception venue on Monday to go over layout diagram and some sound stuff, flying to Seattle to go shopping with my Jr. bridesmaid to find a dress on the 28th and I think we'll work on dying my dress skirt in August.
Like @fitfor30th I am sending Great wishes for those BIG DAYS coming up soon!0 -
8 weeks left...OMGoodness!0
-
It will fly by. You can do it. How's the house stuff and meetings going?
Two weeks from tomorrow for me.0 -
Ugh. Today I weighed in and am back up to 168
I have 7 weeks (and a couple days, but basically 7 weeks) until the wedding...this is NOT good.
I haven't tried on my dress again since the end of May and I'm concerned. I am hoping that I can drop at least 10 pounds over the next 5-6 weeks when I will need to try on the dress and make any last minute alterations.
As of Monday I am doing ok on eating, but have YET to get in a really good Sweaty Heavy Breathing workout! I need to get on it for sure! I'm laying out a workout schedule that will start out intense but short and give myself until the weekend to get back into the groove and then I'm gonna start ramping up the workouts.
I'm also gonna start PRE-planning my menus a week at a time and STICK TO IT!
(I will allow one "Possible" departure on my birthday-8/3 where I may indulge in a cocktail or two and a piece of pie...I haven't decided yet.)
I know that this is QUITE the departure from my usual way of doing things low and slow, but apparently that hasn't worked over the last year and a half...so I'm gonna resort to desperate measures This is it MFPalz! CRUNCH TIME!0 -
I hear you Marla, I'm back at 168 too after a big food break following the wedding, and also now buying, selling and moving houses! Stress! And a job interview, and finding new schools for the children!
We have a holiday booked for the 11th of August, I'm actually hoping to get back down to at least 160 by then, as a lot of this weight went on easy, so should come off easy!! Being strict everyday now, 10,000 steps, 1500 Cals, and at least20 mins kettle bells or gym! But can't lly get to the gym now as the kids are on summer break.1 -
Uh oh! Marla Jean, you can definitely get the weight back down. You do have time. 10 lbs in 5-6 weeks is aggressive, but not totally unachievable, especially if some of that weight is more water weight from poor eating (you definitely need to enjoy your birthday, though; also, our birthdays are only 2 days apart! Mine's on the 1st. ) Be aggressive, but also make sure that you're not going to hurt yourself long term. Ramp up workouts and stick to meal plans in a healthy way that won't hurt you physically or starve yourself (listen to your body). You CAN do this and you will be a gorgeous bride because you're a gorgeous person.
The problem I'm at now is I want to go to the gym and do strength to tone up arms, but I feel like there's so much to do, I don't have time to go to the gym. My fiance and I said we weren't doing wedding gifts to each other, but I'm kind of violating because I had a really cool idea (I thought) to write him a book/journal with at least 1 entry/week for our first year of marriage with reflections on our relationship, thoughts on how much I love him, etc. that he can read, particularly when I'm having my b!#@&* times and am less than a loving wife to remind him that I still love him and think the world of him. I may have bitten off more than I can chew this close to the wedding, especially since I can't work on it when he's home, but I still really like it so trying to get as far as I can; if necessary, I'll get a couple months and borrow it after the wedding to finish. Other details are little things like thank you notes for all the people helping with the ceremony, parents, bridesmaids and getting gifts together, confirming details with vendors. Talk about crunch time. I'm doing as much with calorie restriction as I can to keep weight in check (I haven't seen my dress since January and did that fitting after a week of holiday eating so I'm actually still down almost 10 lbs from where I was); I would really like to be under 150 for the wedding. I was at 152 this morning.
Jools, good luck with the interview and the house moving! Definitely stress, but hopefully it will get better soon. Good luck getting that weight back down before your holiday, but definitely enjoy it either way. When does school start back up for the kids? Keep up the great work on your steps and workouts and sticking to your calorie goals. You got this!1 -
Something that has worked for me in the past (and I plan on restarting soon - I was taking a break after a surgery) is intermittent fasting. More specifically, what is called the 5:2 diet. The premise is that you eat about 500 calories (1/4 of your caloric intake) two days a week (any two days, can be back to back or spread out) and you eat your normal body's caloric amount on the others. I dropped weight so quickly doing this! The best part is that it keeps your metabolism running, so you won't hit the plateau or slowdown you will in normal calorie cutting. It also feels much more sustainable because you can eat regularly on the non-fasting days.
All my life I was an athlete and had it embedded in me that skipping breakfast or meals is a bad thing. I would be frightened of feeling hungry, because I thought my body would then slow down and hold onto whatever I gave it as fat (starvation mode). As it turns out, that was a bunch of bogus. Allowing your digestive system time to "rest" is actually a good thing! I lost a lot of fat on 5:2 while keeping my muscle (many weight lifters have started IF diets). I was in the best health and energy of my life while doing the 5:2 (I followed it for about a year). I've since put on a few pounds, and now that I've got a dress fitting in the future I'm trying to get back on the bandwagon!
Just thought I'd share in case this was helpful or of interest to anyone else!1
