Plateaued, frustrated and confused

I've got about 10# of belly fat to lose and have tried a bunch of stuff like carb cycling that hasn't worked. So I consulted a primal coach and now dropping protein to 120g, carbs to less than 50g, jacking up fat and cutting way back on caffeine.

Actually calorie reduction is the natural out come every time I've done this and it appears to be happening again. The primal coach is very concerned that I've got cortisol issues and that's causing the excess belly fat. We'll see what the blood tests say.

Thanks "I only suggest that you embark on this process of self-experimentation if you are fairly healthy (it’s okay if you have weight to lose), if you are not consuming gallons of coffee to get through your day, if you are sleeping at least fairly well, and if you can keep your food intake relatively consistent from day to day. The goal is to figure out the range of carbohydrates that you can consume and be healthy. Then as you practice eating your optimal level of carbohydrates, you can learn how to shape your meals so that you don’t have to count carbohydrates or really think about it anymore. By the end of this process of self-experimentation, you should be able to intuitively eat the right number of carbohydrates for you!"

Actually I'm pretty convinced that this is not a cico issue but rather a cortisol imbalance issue. I'll get blood tests later this week and find out for sure.

I'm on 20g carbs per day at the moment.. I find it naturally reduces my calorie intake too and I don't get so many sugar spikes..I even started becoming addicted to fruit so I knew I had a problem!

Me? In the UK they count it differently..they include the fiber separately, so it would be the net carbs i'm counting, yes.

The Atkins way then. I find 20 g a day net to work out very well myself.

Yep it's Atkins.. lol although I don't always mention that bit until asked! I started to read about Paleo/Primal.. about refined carbs - that's what got me interested, then I decided to try Whole30. Learnt alot about myself but weight loss was obviously secondary.. I figured I quite liked this way of eating especially after feeling so rough after stopping Whole30..So next stop was Atkins, lower carb and Ketosis.. been on it a week now and so far it's working for me extremely well too!

Atkins was a brave genius. His book probably saved my life. I was 250 at one time with a ton of major health issues like fatty liver, leaky get etc. Even though I had lost a lot of weight the other health problems continued. Two + years ago I went full keto and they all went away. The last problem that I've recently uncovered was this cortisol issue. Ketosis doesn't solve that. Only slowing th F down seems to solve that.
