Hip Pain

Hi everyone, This is a running (well, jogging : ] ) question, but this is the best place that I know of to ask. Hell, this is the best place I know of to ask *any* question about diet & fitness.

Short question:

Yesterday I was trying to do some jogging. Last night my hips hurt fierece -- kept me awake and still sore this morning. What can I do about it? And should I squat as planned today?

Background:

I haven't done anything higher impact than walking in a decade. That was because I have/had bad knees. But weighted squats have made my knees so much better that I thought I would see if I could start doing some of the things I used to take for granted.

So I learned power cleans. At first my knees protested but now they are on board with it. :glasses:

I also jump a bit each day now. Just 'cause I can! You know the feeling when you can do something that you hadn't been able to do for a long time? It's pure joy. So I do it.

Then I started trying to jog a little. Just a few steps here and there while playing with my dogs. That was going good. So yesterday I tried to push my jogging a little bit. I probably jogged about 10 minutes out of 40. It went great, I felt great. No problems with my knees.

But later, feck! my fecking hips. The soreness is equal in both, and it feels like it's in the joint not in the muscles. I'm sure I have arthritis in them but haven't ever had true problems with them, just fibromyalgia pain (so no physiological cause for pain).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is this something that will sort itself out, or do I need to practice better form? Etc.

Thanks all :flowerforyou:
