Not feeling so alone anymore

I'm so glad to see how many people have joined our group. For so long I've felt so alone...nobody believed me when I said I thought something was wrong with my stomach but my inner voice kept telling me there had to be a cause for the "pregnant" belly even though I was in the be shape I've ever been in. I'd love to hear what's helped close or reduce the size of your diastasis or what hasn't worked.

I followed my instincts as well that something was wrong when I noticed all the swelling went down after I gave birth, and I still looked pregnant. For awhile before that, I thought it was just swelling. Three months post-partum, I just wanted to get it to go down. I found out that since I was in the early stages, there were still some hormones in me that could help my stomach get back to normal. I guess at that point my stomach muscles were really loose. I looked up ways to get it go down which wouldn't require surgery. I didn't have a hernia or anything like that so I know I didn't need surgery. I saw there was the Tubler technique, other similar exercises to work the tranverse abdominus, and the Bellefit. I saw other women had great results who had diastasis recti like me. I was feeling really impatient so I got the expensive Bellefit. On their site, it said that it works for women who just gave birth up until 6 months post-partum. So, I gave it a try. I put it on at night, and it was really tight to get on. I measured my stomach before I put it on. I woke up the next morning, and my stomach felt smaller already. I re-measured, and I went down 4 inches in one night. I was 46 inches before, and I was 42 inches after that night. It got to a point that I needed the next size down to get the results I wanted. That helped bring my stomach all the way down. I still have my c-section pouch. So, my stomach looks no where near my pre-pregnant flat stomach, but it is a lot better. I did some tranverse abs workouts to help as well, but I mostly relied on the corset. It is kind of hard to talk about on this site because people get mad whenever you mention a product that worked. But, the truth is that it did really help me. I don't know if it work for everyone or if I was just lucky. If it didn't work, I was going to use the Tubler technique which I heard really helps a lot of women. So, that is my story.1
