Are you taking medication to make it normal if you actually are? Then there is no special consideration that needs to be given to eating at reasonable deficit for your level of activity.
If not, you can also cause hypo symptoms, and/or make them worse, by undereating.0 -
so i will be starting my medication from tommorow..does that mean with medication i can continue to eat at TDEE-20%...?0

If you were honest with activity level, and realize that at this point, 15% is more correct with as little as you have to lose - yes.
Switch to 10% deficit down to last 10 lbs.0 -
Im hypothyroid too. I find aslong as my levels are normal my metabolism is normal. I don't do tdee - whatever % because some weeks im not as active as others. so I don't have a set TDEE to go by.
I just set my mfp profile to maintain so my calories remaining shows my deficit for the day. I kept my deficit around 500 to lose the first 60lbs (I averaged 1lb a week as expected) but now I only have 12lbs to go I keep my deficit around 250.
oh and fitbit works out my activity level daily and adds calories accordingly. (im set as sedentary)0 -
I have half a thyroid gland. It functions completely normally following EM2WL. No drugs needed. Just take your meds and get your levels checked as your doctor recommends. No need to do anything special!0
