.... So i went to the supermarket and got myself a virgin coconut oil... but it had a whole section of coconut oil and virgin coconut oil.... Is there any difference between the two for low carb diet?
Or is it just a matter of a taste ?

If you don't mind the taste of it, I'd go with virgin.
Here's a quick link I found.
Tbh I didn't read it thoroughly, so take it for what it's worth.

I like the taste so I use virgin, but if I didn't and couldn't get used to it, I'd have no problem using the refined myself. I think the benefits outweigh any negatives. Or you could try a blended MCT oil... But it's another unnatural form really...2 -
I like the virgin coconut oil taste and that it is not extracted with chemicals.1

Have you found noticeable differences in taste between different brands of unrefined virgin (coconut oil)?
How about a biggest-bang-for-the-buck label?

I've found Carrington Farms on Amazon to be the best price per volume on the 54oz. But only if you get free shipping of course.
Carrington Farms Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 54 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CPZPYLS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_XR6gxb8FV32TJ
I did find Better Body brand in the same size and price st Samd club recently too.
I haven't noticed a difference in taste between brands.2 -
I order one to check it out. Much better price than what I am paying at Krogers.1

I buy both. I have one son who not a fan of the taste of coconut oil so I use refined coconut oil in foods he may eat and save the virgin coconut oil, with the coconuttty taste, for me. If he did not mind the taste I would just buy the virgin oil - less processed.1

I've read that virgin or not doesn't actually apply to how coconut oil is produced. There's no standard like there is for olive oil. People are just piggybacking on the term.1

Uh-oh. So "extra virgin" is no more virgin than "virgin"?.... Yipes!
So... look for "unrefined" vs. "refined"? Or is that poetic license as well?1 -
Don't they typically say "cold pressed" or something? Along with unrefined1

YMMV, but I believe the pressing method involves the max temperature reached when the oil is being mechanically parted from the nut or seed, while refined vs. unrefined involves how long the oil, once extracted, spends at finishing school.

First article I found that sounds like what I have read before. Less chemicals used in the unrefined seems to be the point key to me.3
