Hey all! Sorry I've been MIA! It was my rest and recovery week. So I did that...with everything. I did some nice workouts and such, but spent a lot of time reading, spending time with mundanity, etc. I'm finally feeling less wigged out after a week that had been packed with too much people time and no down time. So trying to be better and more attentive to having time alone each week. My kids are actually behaving better too so I think all of us just needed a slower week.
Highlights: Got a hair cut so now it's all super short and not so heavy again. Had a run gait analysis which was fascinating and super helpful. Basically, I have good form, but I'm too upright and need to be tilted forward a little bit. Have some good things to work on that should help improve my form. Finally just said no to some extra PTO stuff so I could actually spend time with my hubby. Will be good practice for next year when I'm trying to scale that down. They have a lot of new people excited to help, and I need a break.
Marla - Man, it sucks when you deal with illness for so long! Having just come out of that with our family, I think this week was almost a recovery from all the illness. Like, we had been so miserable no one had been able to just relax and enjoy each other. Praying it ends soon for you! At least your still getting out of the house.
Sherry - Glad your taking care of yourself more!
Have my first meeting with my therapist on Wednesday. In other news, I'm switching curriculums for our Sunday school and it should eliminate some of the technological issues I keep running into. Same amount of prep time...but less stress. Plus, it's prepped at my house so I don't have to try and either find a time when hubby can watch the kids or drag the kids with me. I can just do it home when the kids are in bed which is soooooo much easier. Ready to get back into the swing of things this week with my training. Rest and recovery was nice and now time to step it back up again for the next three weeks. First race is only a couple of weeks away. This one is not a main race for me, but kind of a practice one. It's also a duathlon instead of a Tri.
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Volunteer event last night I last from 5:30 to 8:30. It went till midnight with bands, i was at registration table in back. Having to talk over music for directions I noticed when i left i had bad sore throat. Ugh! Still hurts a bit this morning will do salt rinse.
I drank tons of water while there and had cough drops you would think that would have helped!
Going back and forth between depression and anger. I have company coming next weekend my stepdaughter and hubby and 4 days after they leave my mom, daughter & friend & grandson are coming for mom's 88th bday.
I had it set up to hike with younger kids this weekend, do a bunch of driving around and eating out with others.
Because of non ending sickness getting worried about company.
If this doesnt end soon I might have break down!
Sorry, i had to vent. Just resting today since yesterday tired me out.

HI all! I'm so happy to have this place to check-in and to read y'all.
val, yay for the run analysis. I would looooove to do that...when I start running again.
Marla, good luck. DH has this awful cough that won't go away and I can see how debilitating it is.
Well, sis and BIL arrived! Ate finally...but prob should've been more conservative--overdid it. Then I drank....a lot. Too much. I never drink anymore, but the wine was so good...and I just lose control re food and stuff like apparently wine around my sister. But, today we walked allllll over Athens! So I think I'm good. Unfortunately my sister didn't pack ANY sensible shoes, so I had to loan her my new shoes that I got to cure my calves once and for all. I dropped them off to her, and already on the way back I could feel my calf hurt. So all that walking Athens today was just making me worse. Grrrrr, my luck! Tomorrow and Tuesday we have full day tours out of town.0
