I'm on day 5 no booze. My friend even came over to watch Grey's last night and I had sparkling water. Always reminds me I don't HAVE to drink for every "activity" or get together. But it sure is more fun! On the flip side, I have slept amazingly (until my 16 month old wakes me up at 5:45) and have felt great every morning.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit late to the party this month.
I was being good with food and drink but had a rubbish week. Found out my aunt is terminally ill last Thursday so getting my head round that has involved some emotional eating and drinking. Work has been stressful on top.
I've lost count of what I've drunk this week it's not loads but there's been a few beers most nights, but hey some weeks just call for it.
Still I got some summer work clothes out of storage and they fit now but were too tight when I packed them away in Autumn so I must have been doing something right lately.

I'm sorry about your aunt Yvonne :(

TGIF lushes! My son's 22nd birthday is today. How the hell did that happen? I'm way to young to have a grown man for a son ;) going to moderate this weekend!

Soooo.....5 day (almost) streak is better than none, right?

    Sunday - 0
    Monday - 0
    Tuesday - 0
    Wednesday - 0
    Thursday - 1.5 ciders

It's lovely out. I'm having some wine tonight. This week at work has been NUTS! I am really going to try hard to moderate the rest of this month. We don't have much going on so it is possible. But I'm off the wagon I think. I want to try to cut back on week day drinking.

    Sorry Yvonne

Happy Birthday to your son, Sydney, but 22 :scream::noway:

    Monday-1 glass of wine
    Tuesday-1 vodka/juice/sprite and 1 glass of wine
    Wednesday-2 vodka/juice/sprite
Thursday-1 Not your Father's Ginger Ale (very good, VERY sweet...one and done), 2 vodka/juice/sprite and 1 glass of wine
Trying to decide if we should do happy hour tonight?? We have to get up super early for a 5k tomorrow...its a charity walk through work.
Oh oh oh and Maui Brewers Fest is tomorrow

    Have a great weekend!!!!

Happy weekend, I'm drinking Chinese beer to go with Chinese takeout, if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it properly!
Took my frustrations out on a huge creeping ivy bush in my garden this afternoon. I was only going to trim it a bit but ended up wrestling with it hacking chunks off. I'm fed up with it taking over the garden, it chose the wrong week to pick an argument with me :D

    Hi Lushes....

I'm kind of getting back into MFP and thought I would check out the lush thread that I so love.

2016 has been difficult. My dad died on Jan. 3rd and my MIL died on Feb. 6th. The cat has been missing for 3 weeks. My son will enlist in the marines in July and I will have to say goodbye.

I see that you all are still lushy - Cheers!!

Sorry to hear that nisijam. :(

Got pretty buzzed Friday. Dinner out, then neighbors down.

Saturday we day drank at the flea market and had early dinner with wine, but then I took a break and ended the night with 2 big glasses of wine and a movie after the kids went to bed and Eric went to a friend's. It was nice.

Day drank some yesterday too but feel fine other than a little sleepy today as I was up from 3-4am. I do have to say when I don't drink I sleep much better.

I'm going to try to get a couple 0's this week and just moderate otherwise. No heavy week night drinking and try to keep the weekends down too.

Kim!!!!!! I have missed you. I understand the dad thing, mine passed in November. Kate is living Maui now and spending way to much time in the sun and sand (at least according to her posts.)

I had a decent weekend. I decided not to go on the wagon until after my birthday (27th of this month) Then I will get serious. Limeade and vodka was the choice this weekend but I upped my water to two glasses between each drink. I think it helps. At least it slows my consumption down some.

Yvonne I can so relate to the ivy thing. I have morning glory taking over my entire yard. I have to pick a fight with it this coming weekend.

Syd how do you think I feel with the fact that my oldest daughter will be 32 years old on the 30th. Wasn't I 32 years old just the other day?

Kate how was the 5K and the brew fest?

Catch up with all of you later, lushes!

I missed all of you too...

I am super jealous of Kate being in warmth.

I am hoping that we can move South in about 7 years. I am thinking the Carolina's. I like trees, lakes and wish to be by an ocean if possible. However, I have time to figure it out. I have 4 more years until the last kid finishes high school. Then, I am FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Anybody have thoughts on a good place to retire that is warm.

You can come here to San Diego, Kim...we've got great weather! So sorry to hear about your family's loss. Glad you've rejoined us, it's good to hear from you!
Robin you're much too young to have a kid in their 30s.
I managed to moderate fairly well and exercised both Saturday and Sunday, but I ate too much.
I'm going to go for 0's this week. Huge party this weekend and 5 days in Laguna Beach the week after so I need to drop a few.

Hi Lushes. Finally managed a weekend where I logged everything, even when it was painful to see how many calories over I was. Helped me make some better decisions though so it was good. It's time I really start taking this seriously so I can lose some weight. Mon - Thurs = no drinks! Wish me luck... It'll be a boring week but that's ok, I'll have company next week so that week with probably pretty damned Lucky. Have a good week everyone!

same ol same ol yesterday. I have all these plans in my head of what I will do when I get home and then I walk thru the door and the plans don't walk thru the door with me. I think I have a force field in my front door that zaps all motivation for getting things done. :grumble:

I finished the bottle of red from the weekend. Was about a glass and a half. I considered having a beer, but refrained. Glad I did. I slept straight for probably almost 9 hours straight. Not sure about tonight. Primaries are today in KY and I sort of like to drink and watch the polls. :drinker:

Got my 0 and a good workout done. Hopefully the same today. I'm grocery shopping and will pick up wine while there, but that doesn't mean I have to open it, right?!

KIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi!!!! So sorry to hear about your losses  But super glad to see you back!!!!
And yup, WE MADE IT!!!! Moved Jan 7th and it has been amazing!!! We are so fortunate to have things go so smoothly for us. Life is good, baby!!!!

    Monday-8oz of wine
    Tuesday-more of the same.
I honestly cannot say when the last zero I had was :noway:

I am getting workouts in.....the piyo has been interesting...not terrible, not amazing. Plus our living room space is limited so therefore so am I. Getting back into the workout groove though. I was really active before I started work...I was doing yoga or walking and always cleaning or painting or unpacking, now the majority of my day is spent at my desk. Although I do try and get up and walk around as much as possible...most days anyway
I have been walking home from work most days, so that is something a little extra.

    Have a great day!!!!

Kate, I have a work friend that moved to Hawaii when they let go the Acute Care Nurse Practioners. He, and his partner, seem to be so happy there given the numerous posts on FB.

Syd, I will be in SD in September for my son's USMC graduation if all goes well. How close are you to the base?

So, yesterday, I was given a verbal warning about meds left at the bedside, and of course, the guy almost choked. I didn't even know about it until another RN wrote it up as a safety event. Nice co-worker. So during my meeting yesterday, I learned that this is part of my permanent record and if it should EVER happen to leave pills unattended in a room; I will be terminated. WTF??

This has NEVER happened in the 10 years that I have been there. I am so steadfast about watching people take their pills and I don't know what distracted me from that. It was on a unit that is soooooo understaffed. In fact, I was just saying that I feel like my license is at risk working there because of it. I think I jinxed myself.

I, literally, cannot take another hit this year.

Yesterday, my son turned 18 and we took him to the casino. We, are such good parents.

Kim...I'm about a 30 minute drive from the base. Let me know if you'll be in town! And hang in there at work. Sounds very stressful.
