Okay, I really appreciate the new gut biome research being done, but apparently that has led to the speculation that obesity might be contagious!?

I may need to be quarantined, stat, before someone catches obesity from me.

If true, then the cure is just a good course of antibiotics. :)

BTW, at least one of the studies the article sites on obesity and fecal transplants has been retracted:

Or make it worse. Antibiotic use can be a major cause of messed up gut flora in the general population.

Was around relatives who are over the normal BMI during the April holidays and it was pretty easy to just "fall in line" with their WOE---didn't dare weigh myself for at least a week after returning home.

Exactly! Seems much more likely that obesity runs in families due to genetic makeup and common behavioural issues than the sharing of gut bacteria that they're now suggesting can potentially be transferred via our airborne gut bacteria. It's just lunacy imo. I wish they'd spend their research dollars somewhere that would really help.

Not convined re genetic predisposition either, when the family dog n cat are also obese, I think it may be time to look at ways of eating n social praise for compliance with over generous food portions. "Falling in line" for a week I gained 2lb. Literally back on the treadmill as I type this.
