Have you ever trained someone "my age"?"

I take a lot of hard classes and I like to say I'm the oldest one there, which is true.
I just wonder - if the instructors/trainers - have ever worked with someone "as old as I am".
I'm sort of afraid to ask !!!!!

At the gym where I'm working out, one of the personal trainers looks like he's in his late 60s or early 70s. He is very fit and moves like a man in his 40s or earlier.
The instructor for one of my yoga classes, on a guess, is in her late 50s or early 60s...
Looking around the gym, there are folks of all age ranges.
Like the numbers on the scale, I believe the number of your birth certificate is important but doesn't need to be the focus of your wellness.0 -
My husband has started attending various water aerobics classes at the Y. He says that the "worst" (read that as "hardest") class is run by a 68 yo former marine. He prefers the one with the little 20 something instructor. Hahaha!3

I'm pretty sure I'm one of maybe 2 or 3 of the oldest females, in the morning anyway, at my gym. I see more men my age than women. I kind of like it!
Both of my trainers said I out perform many of their 40 year olds and like to use me as an example to inspire them.....LOL
Age is only a number when it comes to fitness. Look around you and see how many 20 or 30 somethings you can find that aren't terribly fit, even at the gym.1 -
Sometimes I think as we age we actually have an advantage of sorts. At our ages, usually the only people we are trying to impress is ourselves. Most of us are "over" the thing of doing what is cool or trendy, and worried more about what WE are hoping to achieve. It's kind of like that scale thing that some get hung up on, but we know that age number will never go down. But we also know that even if the number keeps going up, our fitness levels and/or personal goals don't have to go down.
And there are plenty in this group proving that day in and day out.3
