does that even happen when on low carb , or does it simply act like an extra dose of coffee diuretic .
I am not complaining I saw a 3 pound loss instead of a 1.5 pound loss on the scale...
was just curious about this phenomenon
by alcohol i meant hard liquors with no carbs/no sugars taken with soda water and such...

Interesting! I've only had alcohol maybe 3 times in the six months I've been doing LCHF. Twice it was moscato and once red wine. I had some water retention two of the times but not this last time.0

I find it to be dehydrating and often see some scale weight loss the next day but it doesn't last. And it's also a method I've been able to use to know how well I did at staying hydrated the night before too. If I am really good about having a small glass of water between drinks and salt then I don't have as much or any loss from dehydration the next morning.1

I found it to be excruciatingly dehydrating and would always have a loss after. I now try to drink a bottle of water with a little salt after each drink, and dont forget your magnesium. Mostly I just drink a lot less, which isn't all bad.3

But you probably feel your drinks a lot quicker than before (is this the elusive Metabolic Advantage?), so it could be a wash in the metaphysical sense!0 -
