Squishy fat - how long until it goes away?

I've been working on losing the weight from my last pregnancy since the beginning of the year. I haven't lost many pounds, but have been getting super strong and seeing lots of positive shape changes along the way.
Back in May, I went to Las Vegas and the combination of buffets, dehydration and plenty of alcohol made me bloat like I didn't think possible! My baby tummy grew 5 (yes, 5!) inches during the 3 days I was there. After 10 days at home I was back to my pre-trip measurements.
Then a few weeks later, we had to make a last minute trip abroad and the same thing happened, to a slightly smaller extent because I was being careful not to get too crazy with the food and booze and trying to drink enough water. We've been home for 2 weeks and I'm just about back down to the same size.
Except that the fat above my muscles is now SUPER squishy. My tummy is droopy and cellulite weirdy, whereas it was mostly smooth before. The fat on my thighs and calves is way softer. I've read the Lyle McDonald squishy fat and whooshes article about 30 times trying to reassure myself that this is a good thing.
My question is, for those of you that experienced the squishy fat, how long did it take to go away? I've started dry skin brushing which is actually very nice and am trying to eat at a small deficit, which I totally suck at because food is tasty and I'm hungry from my activity and workouts, and trying to drink loads of water. Is there anything else I can do to hurry this along? I can tell I've got this ridiculous body waiting to come out and I'm impatient!

A few stiff drinks, or a non-diet day with big carb reload.
Both have been shown to do it.
