Checking for Ketones with a Ketonix

I have some questions on Ketone testing. I purchased a Ketonix breath analyzer a few weeks ago and have been regularly testing my ketones and cannot figure our why Im not more in ketosis. I rarely go over 50 grams of carbs and try to stay closer to 35. I am barely getting into Ketosis from what my reading say! This afternoon I finally got a 54 (one blink into the orange level which is "moderate level of ketones') I then had 2 tablespoons of Almond butter and 1 hour and 15 minutes later when I tested I am at 33- barely in the green!

Are ketones affected by what we eat very quickly after eating or results based more on what we ate many hours ago? I did also check my blood sugar and when my ketones registered 54 my blood sugar was on the lower side (for me) at 88. When I did both tests again after eating the almond buttter the blood sugar reading went up to 104 but again ketones went down to 33:(

Also, when I read about Ketone readings people always seem to refer to numbers like 3.1 or 1.5 but my Ketonix reads 0-100. How do I convert my Ketoix reading to a blood ketone monitor type reading?

thank you!

No idea about the device, but food and exercise both have an effect. This will give you an idea of the relationship:

Eating just about anything will quickly bring down the level of ketones.

I use the $15 breath analyzer off eBay and since Ketonix uses the same technology as mine from what I read from the Ketonix developer you have a couple things that causes our reading to vary so crazy. How long/hard one blows can be a factor on mine. Second we are not measuring anything useful for energy. The acetone leaving by the way of skin and lungs was never part of our blood ketone levels. My read out is digital and range is from 0.0000 to 0.9999. My read out if in ketosis runs from like 0.0150 to 0.085. Last night I think it was 0.052 and this AM it was 0.049. I have not found much of a collation between my read out on my blow meter and my blood ketone meter. The blow meter again gives no useful info other than you are exhaling some level of acetone so you are in some unknown state of ketosis vs. Out Of Ketosis. That lets one monitor the carb level recently eaten.
