Pre-surgery diet, lactose intolerance advice

I am starting 10 liquid diet prior to gastric bypass but I am lactose intolerant. Looking for what others with lactose intolerance do it. Differences between using Lactaid milk vs soy milk? Thanks in advance.

Fairlife Milk is lactose free and high protein. Soy and Almond milk don't have a lot of protein. If you have protein goals, I'd try and figure out sample days with the different protein levels and decide from there.

Using Carnation Breakfast Essentials no sugar added and alternating Lactaid Milk and soy milk. Per instructions I am also adding whey protein to each. So far I do have some light gas. Not a problem right now but sent message since I suspect that won't be good after surgery.

Yeah, the first ingredient in Carnation is Milk. GNC carries a line "About Time" it's lactose free. If they insist you use Whey, maybe see if your GNC would be willing to open one for a sample for you. I have no idea about the flavors, etc. If you have a good Whey protein, why do you need the Carnation? I'd ask about that...
