Here's a recent thread on r/keto about experiences with stubborn fat. There were some interesting opinions. So if you've tried "everything" and still can't get the scales or measurements to move, maybe something here can inspire you ? YMMV

I've only started reading this, but I know IF is critical for me to get control of my insulin levels, so it would stand to reason that this would help me with other factors, as well. I'll respond more once I get through the main link and all the related ones! LOL1

Okay, so using IF as a tool will be great, but as I never intend to get that ripped, the rest of it likely won't apply. One of the guys involved in this thread had a fabulous writing though about motivation...

My favorite quote from it: "If you're bored right now, the last thing you want to do is engage in a high reward behavior. Try doing the opposite: spend 10 minutes on going for a walk without your cell phone, or do some pull-ups or push-ups, or even just spend 10 minutes throwing out garbage clutter from your guest room or in your garage. Convert boredom into a low reward behavior with earned rewards and you'll soon find yourself more motivated the next time around."5 -
@KnitOrMiss. You and I have been at these crossroads before. I posted the above as much for myself than anybody else. I know I have to change my current eating if I want the changes I desire. But it's human to resist change. Cause as much as we may detest it....If we grew up with unhealthy boundaries...the suction to stay with what is known (and detrimental) is MUCH stronger than to take a risk doing or venturing into a possibly better future. It takes courage. Leaps of faith.
When I keep feeling sorry for myself, I get sucked back into behavior that I don't even want. Self sabotage has it's devious ways. And when I'm vulnerable due to stress, the inner voice that starts rationalize poor choices creeps into my frazzled mind. Having empathy for myself without diving into a pity party and relying on the few good habits I've built slowly, save me time and time again. I agree with abdada that when I focus on how good I'll feel after I've done a good job, is a much better carrot or motivator than punishment. It gives sense of accomplishment and dare I say brief happiness2
