I visit family in southern Spain next month and will be mostly be buying groceries, eating home cooked food, the occasional restaurant meal and no doubt a bit of tapas.
Can anyone recommend some typical Spanish keto/low carb foods so I can build up a mental larder before I go please?

Olives, meats such as chorizo and ham, cheeses will be your friend. Fresh seafood. Yummy olive oil :-)3

Olive oil and bread is a big thing, I wonder what I could substitute it with? Still, I wouldn't want to be rude to their customs0

Just tell them that on the advice of your doctor, you eat a certain way for medical / health reasons. Most people understand that nowadays and will accept that as a legitimate excuse not to partake of high carb / high sugar / high starchy dishes like rice, beans, bread, pasta, grains, desserts, etc.1

You can always skip it. I don't think it would be rude. You can always explain to them you don't eat bread.
For example, if they put out a spread of different foods, just pick and choose the foods that you can eat. Some olives, ham, cheese, drizzle a little olive oil on that - you have yourself a delicious little plate.
I come from a family that goes super heavy on the rice, but I just tell them that I don't eat rice and pick at the meat and vegetables.1 -
Tomatoes drizzled with olive oil, proscuitto, olives, prawns, capscicum, more olive oil. Yum.1

If you aren't sure you'll be able to handle this problem, please forward your tickets on to me. I'm pretty confident I can take care of things on your behalf. Oh, please; don't thank me. It would be a huge sacrifice but it's the least I can do for a pal.2

LOL, I did that the other day when a friend of mine who makes beautiful loaves of bread for the Farmer's Market offered me some bread to take home. I told her my doctor told me I had to lose weight this way - low carb- or my health would suffer. (I would have taken it home for hubby but he doesn't like crusty loaves of bread - crazy man that he is).
I keep telling myself that I will eat real bread again, once I reach my goal weight.1
