I CAN'T EAT THAT MUCH!

So I re-calculated everything using the "Just my TDEE and Deficit Please" spreadsheet.

BMR 1633
TDEE 3022

TDEG 10% 2720
TDEG 15% 2569
TDEG 20% 2418

The most I can get myself to eat in a day is around 1800! This is discouraging :(

When I started on this journey almost a year ago, I was at about 800 calories a day. I jumped up to 1200 and have been slowly creeping up in calorie intake. August will be a year and I'm still only at 2000 a day steadily. It's not easy at first, and I agree it was very discouraging especially when I went from 800 calories a day to 1200 I lost 30 pounds in the first month. Since then I gain 5 lose 6, gain 8, lose 10. It's been crazy confusing! I didn't think I would ever hit my BMR let alone my TDEE, but I finally let go of my guilt when I ate and now it's easier. I can actually eat and not vomit all the time. Make small changes at a time, you'll get there! :)

@SlimSage, it can be overwhealming at first, specially if you have been eating so little for so long, it's mind blowing and hard on your body. Increase slowly for now, 100 cals extra each week for instance so your body and mind get used to it. Write down how you feel with the extra calories. Increase a bit in each meal, cut the fat free food, eat whole foods. It takes time, but slowly your body will warm up to new increased intake and start showing benefits.
Make sure you check the EM2WL starter guide to know how to do it and what to expect http://training.eatmore2weighless.com/get-your-quick-start-guide/?utm_source=mfp&utm_medium=DM&utm_campaign=quick start

@scaryann1, wow, you have been coming a long way! The improvements may not be linear, but they are happening

I know its hard to wrap your mind around it all. I had a heck of a hard time and I think I said the exact same thing when I calculated my TDEE a few years ago. I promise you..it DOES get easier to do, and your body will adjust and thank you for it.
I started around 1400 cals when I began. I now happily eat over 3100 every day. It can be done.
Work on small attainable goals to begin. Its really hard to just increase up over 1000 cals overnight, so work on smaller chunks.. work on getting over 2000 cals.. eat there until you are comfortable.. then jump another 100-200 cals.. and so on.. It wont happen over night, and it may not happen in a couple of weeks, but it will. As long as you commit to it.. TRUST THE PROCESS and let go.

In the beginning, concentrate on Low density, high cal foods.. Get in a lot of nuts and seeds.. use peanut butter/nut butters.. get rid of any diet product and use full fat everything. Eat dairy.. greek yogurt, cheeses etc. If you have protein shakes, use milk instead of water.. slowly the cals will add up. In the beginning, it just might feel like you are stuffing yourself. Its completely normal to feel bloated, full and cant eat another bite.. but within a few days your body adjusts to the higher cal level, and you will be surprised at the "hunger" feeling when it hits you.. and then you increase again...

Feel free to add as a friend and you can poke around my diary for ideas:) We are here to help:)

Try adding the calories little by little so it doesn't feel like such a big jump. If you increase by 100-200 calories per week, in no time you will be getting up to your TDEE.
I know it is scary to start with, I have been just where you are. It takes time to adjust our mindsets to allow us to think that we can eat that much and also to adjust physically to eating more!
Raynn1 has some great ideas there about the high calorie low density foods, because that will easily add the calories without making you feel bloated and uncomfortable.
4 years ago I went from eating 800 calories and have gradually increased to 3500-4000 on my active summer days :o
I would not have believed someone if they had told me that back then!
