So I've been doing some reading and I'm wondering if You guys take vitamins or minerals etc... Especially for those of you doing though with IR or PCOS. I haven't been taking anything but wondering if things like tumeric, magnesium, b12 and so on are something i should be taking. If you do take these or others can you tell me what they are for and what the best brand you've found is?
Thank you

I take magnesium (because I have a hard time with muscle cramps/twitching), turmeric (for inflammation; I can't tell that it's helping but I bought a 250 capsule bottle so...) and until recently also calcium (ran out & want to research types before buying more)

    Let's see:
    Vitamin D3 - 4,000
Vit K and D3 (because they come together)
Zinc (to see if it helps with my peeling nails...not sure yet)
    Magnesium glycinate (4x165)
1 Tbsp of turmeric (I make turmeric paste and add it to coffee and make Golden Milk with homemade almond milk - this is much easier than it sounds!)
    2 tsps of fish oil
    Probiotic (30 billion - 2 x per day)
I will also take a couple of Brazil nuts for selenium whenever I remember.

Other foods I use for medicinal purposes are raw cacao powder (added to yogurt for chocolate yogurt) and 1/4 cup of organic frozen blueberries - both are good antioxidants...plus chocolate! I also try to add ground chia or ground flax (1 tbsp) every few days to my yogurt though I am not always clear on the benefits though I gather it can make a difference to colon health.

I couldn't tell you if these make a difference (except magnesium which helped curb chocolate cravings) but I certainly notice feeling "off" when I forget to take them.

I do sometimes feel like I'm on a treadmill of trying to fit in all the things but I also don't sweat it too much if I miss something one day.

Edited to add: I've been working with a holistic nutritionist which has been super helpful in terms of making sure my body is getting what it needs while at the same time respecting my desire to stay keto.

I'm not taking for conflicting reasons (I can explain, but didn't want to detract from this thread), but #1 I have taken and might start again for PCOS and IR is Inositol. Anywhere from 500 mg - 8-12 grams depending on therapeutic range for you (based on tolerance and reduction in symptoms).

What I'm personally taking right now:
    D3 5000 iu (am)
    Super K Plus (has K1 & K2 - take WITH D3, an)
    Vitamin C (x2 am/pm)
B-Complex with bioavailable forms (am to early pm)
B-12 if needed (am to early pm)
Lysine - for prevention of outlying issue (x2 am/pm)
    Fish Oil - (reduce inflammation, x2 am/pm)
    Magnesium glycinate (2 pills=single dose, 2x daily/ lunch/bed)
    Vitamin A - at night

Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar - ~1 TBSP 2-4 times daily with meal/supplements
lite salt - as needed on heavy workout days
Braggs Nutritional Yeast - Added 3-4 days weekly to help with neuropathy/nerve pain

    Recently (yesterday) added:
Restora Rx, which is a Rx probiotic, and I have 24 days of samples, so seeing if it helps. ("between meals")
To add additional homeopathic thing today to help with female balance issues (3 day course)

    Considering adding:
Digestive Enzymes to counter balance/allow reduction in ACV
    BCAA's
Twinlab Na-PCA Non-Oily (for hydration, but having a hard time locating source)
    Diatomaceous Earth
    Ashwagandha
Fermented Cod Liver Oil with Butter Extract
And more too long to list - but still researching

Thank you all. This is helpful as there are some definite crossovers to always get me started.
