Half a pound. Meh. But, I'll take it. I know I've been lifting weights and exercising quite a bit, but have been hungrier than a mama bear in the springtime, lol. I've been eating healthy, but too many calories. It's amazing to me how good our bodies are at maintaining a set point. Did you all read the blog post on MFP yesterday? Titled "Why is Weight Loss So Difficult" or something like that. Wow. It's like every molecule in our bodies and brains fights us on weight reduction. After reading that, I feel fortunate to have been able to maintain the loss from years back. Now, I guess tiny reductions, and maintaining it is what I can expect.

Lois . . holy moly. The healthcare system is hard to deal with, to say the least. I remember well the hassles with my parents. Sarah, I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had the support of siblings. (And, I was fortunate to work at a family business, so my absences from work were supported). We would tag team the care, and even started keeping a log of our own that we left in the hospital or care center of what had happened so we were all on the same page . . .sometimes to a greater degree than the personnel were. It is so very difficult. . I hope our support here is felt, Lois. I'm so happy you get to escape for a bit to my favorite place on earth! Enjoy that.

Sarah, congratulations on your award!!! It is well deserved. You work so hard! I wish I could see your interview . . I think I may have guessed the agency you work for, lol! Good for you. I hope your knee heals quickly.

Kelly, Kelly, Kelly. There is more to life than men and love. But not much more, lol! Check in when you can. In the meantime, I really enjoy your happy face on Facebook. ;)

Anybody see a trend here? Really says something about that blog you mentioned, Sheesh. To get the scale to move down is soooo difficult. And I didn't maintain the 128 pounds that I reached for a very short time about 4-1/2 years ago when we first started with Bodybugg. As I think back, that weight didn't just creep back up on me, though. I rather quickly gain 10 pounds of it back, and then the rest kind of crept back--if my memory serves me.

Two things are on my mind right now. One--my knee is sorer today than yesterday and I don't know why. It doesn't really bother me on level ground, but the stairs. . . I thought five days in, I would be about back to normal.

The other thing is that this darned award is turning out to be a curse and not a blessing. The interview questions today were nothing similar to the samples in the e-mail invitation sent to me yesterday, and they were hard to answer on the spot in writing via Skype. And the management above me is now obsessing about getting to review the article before it's released.

I am supposed to take tomorrow off. I'm still trying to minimize the amount of leave I'm going to lose June 1. But I spent so much time today messing with issues related to this award that I was not able to get all my critical work done. I am just now (after 4:30) eating lunch, and thought I'd check in here to moan and groan a bit. Then it's back to work, and I will probably also need to work some tomorrow, too.

I do so need to get connected to you gals through FB so I can at least see Kelly! :-)

Oh--and one piece of good news. Hubby does not have polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). He was negative for that, and for Lyme, and for RA. The rheumatologist said his best guess is a virus of some sort has been causing the intermittent fever and aches. He said there are some strains now that can cause problems for months, and then go away. I just hope there are no complications. Makes me wonder about all the air travel Hubby has done this winter and spring. You can be careful about washing your hands, but goodness--you have to breathe that airplane air!

Hope everyone is enjoying this holiday Saturday. We have gone from rain that never stops and unseasonably cool temps to HOT! I'm finding that as time goes on, I'm not doing heat very well. It just saps all my energy.

Earlier today, we drove to the town just northwest of us (Frederick, Maryland) for an art show. A good friend was one of the featured artists and there was an interactive abstract painting event today. We enjoyed all the wonderful art of various mediums and then had lunch with my friend's husband. We had planned to go to the pool with neighbors when we got home, but I just didn't feel like sitting in the heat. So we watched a couple of cooking shows on public television and napped. Not exactly a good way to burn calories, but sometimes I think you just need to rest. We plan to tape the Nats game, go do our volunteer work, and then come home and watch a little baseball tonight, so I don't think today will be a big calorie burning day. So my plan for tomorrow is to get up early enough to get in a nice walk in before it gets too hot. Honestly, we went from winter straight to summer again. I miss having a spring!

On Thursday, I had an issue with my Fitbit. My 30-day intake has been showing as zero on the Fitbit site for a few weeks even though I log my food every day. I sent an e-mail to customer support and they replied and told me to disconnect from MFP and then reconnect and it should be okay. NOT!! After I disconnected from MFP, I could not connect back. Fortunately, this happened before 4 p.m. Pacific time, so I was able to call for help. The tech was able to help me get MFP reconnected but she learned while we were doing that that the 30-day intake problem is due to a bug, and although they're working on it, there's no fix now. It's affecting a lot of HR Charge users. While on the line, she also told me there's a firmware update that I needed, and she walked me through getting that. I suppose that there's a way for us to know when new firmware is available, but I'm not sure what it is. If you have a Charge HR, you may want to check on how to get that update.

Well, it's after 6:30, and I have to leave here in a half hour. Take care everyone!
