Sorry I haven't checked in very regularly! School is finally done and I took a day of doing nothing... which was glorious!
It is interesting to be seeing a counselor and working through some things I've struggled with for years and years. Definitely leaves me feeling a tad emotional at times and the process causes me to feel out of my element a lot. It's a good thing, but I'm glad I did this before hubby and I developed a lot of problems. He's super supportive of it all. I've been passing back to him a lot of stuff I was doing for him that he should be doing...like packing his lunches and dinners and stuff for work. So far, he has had to buy out for meals the past few days. It's definitely an adjustment for him to.
So I'm hoping to spend the next week or so establishing a better routine for me again. Now that school craziness is done. I do have two weeks that will be crazy coming up here..,with VBS and with kids camp. But otherwise I'm hoping to spend lots of time swimming with my kiddos and camping this summer. Beat the heat. Supposed to finally hit triple digits by Wednesday. Normally that hits mid-may, so I'm grateful for the nice weather we've had thus far.
Going for a run this morning and finishing getting the house cleaned up this afternoon. Folding laundry, mapping out our week this week, and going to spend some time just reading! What a thought!
Have a great Sunday everyone!0 -
Hi, I am back to my trail walks and today out canvassing for walking, we have primary here in a week or so.
I am dealing with a mom who is almost 90 and thinks she is fine living alone but she is not without help, so very challenging. Luckily for me I have a great counselor and cousin going thru same thing with her mom, who is friends with mine and we are considering asking them if they would be interested in going to same assisted living place. They have waiting lists and their finances are different so might no work out and my aunt is worse with memory problems where my moms problems are she is falling a lot and not taking care of herself physically.
My younger daughter who lives in Texas is in CA this week and driving up here on Tuesday for a few days with my two grandsons 8 & 10. They should love the ocean, hubby offered to watch for one day so daughter and I can do mini hike and spend some time alone.
I had a bad eating night, kept stuffing choc covered mango snacks into face until I felt sick. They are like a treat I buy at costco when they have them in, which is rare. A few small pieces should be my treat, eating a bunch is overkill to both calories and my stomach. Also the dark choc caffeine kept me awake all night.
I am talking with my counselor about stuffing my emotions and having stomach pain so I don't have to deal with emotional pain.
Val, glad you are working on it now, you don't want to be my age, almost 60 and still figuring out my issues!0
