My college student is spending a week here for a change of scenery (her words, not mine) So I have a walking companion during the day now. We had a nice walk yesterday along the river bike path, but the heat and humidity was brutal. Luckily there is an ice cream parlor about two blocks from the bike path, so we took a short break there before continuing on for the rest of our errands. Today I'm thinking about taking her to the nature center. I definitely need tree cover for the shade right now. Added 6.5 miles for a June total of 72.5 miles.
@k80flec That is exactly why I have an extra pair of glasses that stay at work. I can't afford to let the squibbles get the best of me there. Now at home, well, I sometimes try to get by without. Which is not the best choice
@dave Oh I do miss the days of my daughters' band camps. Hot, sweaty, exhausting yes, but so much fun too. Even when we do end up protecting them from themselves.....Oh the invincibility of youth. And always so amazing to see how much they learn when there. I'm glad you had fun.1 -

@TAXMOM9093 - Thanks, and I totally hear you. As this is my youngest and last child to go through high school and an orgranized music program, I'm embracing it and going to try to wring as much fun out of it as I can handle. With any luck, there could be a college band or drumline in his future, but no guarantees.

PS - If any of you were wondering when I was going to update all of the spreadsheet graphs to show June....the answer to that is today. Oops!

June 17: Got up to go for a run early this morning to find the top of the neighbors maple tree in our backyard. It destroyed my junipers and Allegheny viburnums. Now I want to know which one of you northwestern state residents sent this our way so I can send you a bill. (Just kidding.) It definitely was a wind sheer.
So I got to my technology class late after removing the remains off my trees and shrubs and managed to get a 7 mile bike ride in between storms.
10 miles today of which 3 were walking and 7 were biking.
TTD: 170.05 miles
No beautiful scenery photos, but my hubby gave me this feeder that looks like a swing and I caught these cuties eating shelled peanuts.
