I'm starting the month away on a conference for work. Next week we start early morning seconds at my Jui Jitsu club which I'm really excited about and my knee rehab is going well. I'm more than halfway through my concussion recovery and I started the Hogwarts challenge to keep my motivation up. Looking forward to an amazing month even if it is cold and wintery.

Oops, I hadn't even noticed we're in June already! It's been raining so much in Austin that every day seems just like the previous one, wet!

@NewOR2015 it rained this morning here and I actually slept in. Truly a remarkable thing even my hubby was like wow you never sleep in. I think it's just been too many days straight at work long shifts. I'm beat, So tomorrow after we get my dad home from having his surgery mom and I are going to attempt my front garden. It needs so much work but as I have been working on stuff at my parents for a few years I just let it go. It never got put on the to do list. What can I say roofs, and gutters and important stuff got put on the list not a flower bed. I hope we don't come across any critters as then my helper will leave me. Spiders and mice are her kryptonite. Hopefully I can get something accomplished as next week I'm painting my parents very large living room. Her living room is huge but hopefully this will be it. Last time we paint before they sell the place. But hey you never know. til later my friends, sue

21 years ago my sister and I started a competition to see who could create the nicest garden. It's still a tie. Neither one of us has ever put in the time and effort to do something nice and actually create a "garden." Each of us has a large yard, and we do regular yard work, but that's it.

My mom has gorgeous gardens. I started getting her plants when I had moved back home after my first marriage ended. We would look at books all winter and come spring I would search for the plants in my price range she wanted. :) Now my sister and mom buy plants when she visits her it's their thing. I help haul and move stuff when she gets home. My mom's neighbor says she stopped planting she just enjoys moms. But my yard is a disaster I think my mom feels guilty as I spend my free time helping them. With 1 day off a week it's not easy to get everything done. I truly feel there is a reason for everything. Just one day at a time. If my sister and I competed she would win but that's because every year mom and dad visit her and they work on her yard and gardens. Lol so ironic.

Today was my nephew's graduation. It was quite a family celebration with lots of food, of course. I enjoyed myself and ate whatever I wanted. It took me a while to log it, but I logged every single thing I put in my mouth...4,000+ calories! I feel like, after a year and two months, I've learned nothing. Why do I go crazy when it comes to food???? It's not even 6 pm, and I'll be up until 11 pm-ish. Nothing but water until tomorrow.

@NewOr2015 It was one day and if you do an extra activity that helps to leave you 500 left over calories a day it should all just come out in the wash. We all have bad days and top it off one of the best things to burn calories is gardening and we all have that to do. Just stay positive. <3

Just did weigh in for Hogwarts and I only added about 1 kg while at conference (where food is limited to what they give you 5 times a day!! and exercise options are limited). Today I'm off to do beach clean up for World Oceans Day!

I never heard of World Oceans Day. I like how Padre Island charges $ for your vehicle to enter the beach and gives you a large trash bag. If on the way out you return the bag filled with trash, you get your $ back.

Ok I'm so cheap I would so have my bag filled when I was leaving but I bet a lot of people can't be bothered. People can be so lazy.

By the way it's raining with chances of thunder and lightning so I'm going over to mom's to paint. I am definitely chicken sh** when it comes to lightning. I will deal with a lot of things head on just not that.

    That is a great idea!

@2020pinktogo We finally have a good weather forecast. Today's extra activity will be trimming the crape myrtle trees that are overgrown (they loved the rain) and mowing the front yard. As for painting, maybe I need to train one of my daughters, like your parents have trained you, to do their painting for them. :)

@CaptainBoing I remember the beaches being like dumping grounds when I was a child. Today they are much cleaner.

LOL @NewOR2015 Today I got done the ceiling the room is 13 x 26 and then I taped off all the molding and windows so we can start the walls depending on the weather. Today it rained all day thank goodness I took my ladder and utility light. I know I keep thinking how come my daughter doesn't help out she has watched me do it since she was tiny and when I ask she laughs and says in your dreams mom. Where did I go wrong LOL ;)

We are starting early morning training at my gym (MMA/bjj club). It was the biggest thing I would miss when I left my old club, but I knew I could always train by myself in mornings. I'm an early bird! Today was the first day and I overslept, but the guy who was going to open for us did as well, so all good. Tomorrow I plan to swim before I visit the Neurologist to check on my concussion recovery so I will try again on Wednesday.

@CaptainBoing I'm an early bird too. I always set my alarm clock but always turn it off before it rings since I'm already up. Best of luck on your dr appt.

I've given up going for walks outside even though walking is my favorite form of exercise. The many rainstorms we've had lately have resulted in mosquitoes everywhere in Texas. I'm the type that has to scratch when I itch, and mosquitoes love me.

I don't like mosquitos either. Second coat of paint done I'm freezing my tuckus off here it's a balmy 47 degrees. I am exhausted may just hit the hay early tonight.

City of Brownsville sent trucks out to spray town during the night to make it a little more bearable. My nephew says he got only a couple of mosquito bites today. I'm still staying inside...watching Ali funeral procession now.

I'm painting at my house today I'm working on the electric lamp post. It's something I always meant to work on in the last 18 years but never got to. Today's the day it's primed and now my top coat is going on. Then if it's never done again oh well. LOL

LOL I still have to stain the porch one of these days but I normally wash it first so I couldn't do that. I'm really tired and if my hubby says one more time don't know why I'm going to bop him. So I looked up Brownsville TX and as i am on lake Erie and you are closer to the gulf of mexico. We are a lot of states apart. B) though I could stop at every hardware store and check for goof paint on the way and should be able to find some great deals. LOL It's like my favorite thing to do is too look at goof paint and see if there is anything I like. But I'm not one to fly and I really hate driving in traffic so I won't be putting it on my bucket list of things to do. ;) Plus you keep describing those mosquitos they sound like their huge not a selling feature. LOL I'll stay here where I will be putting on my flannel to go to bed. til later, sue

@2020pinktogo You are right, mosquitoes aren't mentioned in the travel brochures. :) And if you ever come to Brownsville, come in February for Charro Days. That's when it's the most fun. You can stay at my mom's house and walk across the bridge to Mexico, only a few blocks away, or take a twenty minute drive to the beach at Padre Island. I actually live in Austin (a six-hour drive away from Brownsville). Once this atypical rainy season goes away, it's a great place with something for everybody.

I'm due for one in 2017. Can't wait. Not!
On a positive note, I went shopping and bought Medium tops instead of Large. I know sizes aren't what they used to be, but seeing the word "Medium" made me feel like great.

Mowed my backyard this afternoon. It's 93º, feels like 104º, but it had to be done. Drank lots of water.
