Getting back on track

has been a very bumpy few weeks - my food binges came back with a vengeance after my holiday (wasn't able to stick to LCHF while I was away) and have struggled since then with stomach pain after eating - finally got to see my Doctor last week and have been prescribed Omeprazole as Dr thinks I have an inflamed duodenal canal - thankfully the Doctor fully supports my new WoE and has said I should be able to get back on track now with the help of these meds to eleviate the pain.

So tomorrow morning I am getting back on track and going to go back to eating the way that makes me happy and satisfied - I am really looking forward to feeling good again and am so thankful to have had this group for support - have done a lot of reading the last few weeks to help me become motivated again

Glad to hear you are getting support from your med professional. Yeah!!

Best place to start on Saturday is to get your fridge and pantry in good order, stock it with with good eats, get rid of the "bumps" and plan your meals out for the coming days. I always feel more grounded getting back on track when I start there. Have a great weekend!

It's good you're getting things back under control. You can do this and never doubt it.

Make sure to read the information with your omeprazole. The prescribing information says to use it for up to eight weeks, and some people have been on it for years (I was one of them!)! Another thing, please read the new sticky in the Launch Pad, about gallbladder issues. People with gallstones (even if they've never had problems with them before) can experience pain when first beginning this woe! My theory is that the fat we eat tries to "clean house" for our bodies, and when stones are present, pain ensues!

It's great to see you back on board!

thanks Karlottap - mine definitely isn't Gall bladder issues as its on the wrong side - but will definitely read the info - have only been given 28 days worth and hoping that will be enough to deal with the issue - I had been doing this WOE for a few months before I went away and fell off the wagon and really didn't expect any problems getting back on track but thankfully now I have some idea what is the problem I can hopefully sort it out and have no further problems

Karlotap - Very interesting theory. It seemed quite curious to me that after a few months of low carb (at first) and then keto that I suddenly had gallbladder problems. I had no idea that I had several large gallstones. Can't wait until the gallbladder comes out in 3 weeks and can, hopefully, like so many of you, get back to LCHF eating.

@bametels, removal of the gallbladder was the easiest recovery, that I ever experienced! I hope the same will be true for you too! One thing I tell my patients (that are having laparoscopic surgery) is to expect some pain in the shoulders. This is from the air they use to be able to see what they are doing while in there. The air gets trapped, and travels. It is absorbed eventually, but the pain from it (its usually far away from the site of surgery! Mine was the collar bone area) can be confusing. Thankfully it doesn't last very long! I always like to be prepared for anything, and know what to expect, and I like this for my patients too! Good luck to you!
