I am trying to keep away from Vegetable Oil and Sunflower Oil and making changes to Olive Oil/butter/saturated fats. I am in the UK and we don't seem to have access to the avocado mayo but have found mayo that is made with rapeseed oil - I do sometimes cook in this but wondered it this was a good fat or one I should be avoiding

i thought rapeseed was what in the US is called canola, I was close but wrong: it is the higher acid cultivar of the same plant. But the answer to the question is the same: yes it should be avoided. I have yet to find a mayo in stores that doesn't have it (I've heard that Costco carries an avocado mayo but we don't have a membership there). Making your own is pretty simple though, I like this "foolproof" recipe

I make me own. I don't like what's in store bought mayo. Sugar, soybean oil... no thanks. It's super easy to make.

Rapeseed oil is horrible. Here is a great 5 minute video, should clear up a lot
