MCT oil

I was online shopping buying my quest bars and i noticed that quest now has MCT oil. I have a silly question to ask... how do you use it? I read that some put in there coffee as a creamer? Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this product. I already put coconut oil and hwc in my coffee and was not sure if MCT oil is better

I'm curious to see what those smart than I think about that too... I actually looked for it yesterday in my grocery but they didn't carry it. I purchased more coconut oil instead. I understand it is better but I don't really know why it's better...0

It's not better exactly. It's different. And not all MCT oils are the same.
Coconut oil has so many of its own benefits that even as an MCT oil user, I still make sure to include it or coconut in some way every day too. But i want the concentrated shorter chain fatty acids in certain MCT oils for their brain benefits as part of my treatment for ADHD.
Most, easily found and cheaper MCT oils contain a higher concentration of caprylic (C8) and capric (C10) fatty acids and less concentration of lauric (C12) fatty acid. And basically none of the other various fatty acids as compared to coconut oil.
If someone doesn't like the taste of coconut oil or wants the convenience of an oil that stays liquid, these are a good replacement for coconut oil because you still get the benefit of lauric acid.
If you want to add an MCT oil for the purpose of supplementation using the highest concentration of caprylic acid would be s good choice. The only products I've found so far that I will use for that purpose are MiCKeyT 8 or Brain Octaine. These have 13.5g and 15g of caprylic acid per tablespoon compared to the more commonly found products average of about 7g. Of course you could just take twice as much of the 7g but you also get twice as much calories which may or not even be an issue really since your brain prefers these quick burning short chain fatty acids, they use them up before all other fuel sources including glucose.0 -

I like the MCT because I am not a fan of the coconut flavor in my coffee. I noticed the Quest MCT oil is powdered rather than liquid. The company also has powdered coconut oil. Has anyone tried the powdered oils? I like the liquid oil I use, but a powder version would be nice and portable. Trying to think of other benefits of a powder...0
