Nausea?

Well, I did it again...self sabotaged myself to the point of gaining back all the weight I was successful in losing over the past year. I'm super disappointed with myself, but am trying to think of it like a science experiment and learning experience...and implement tools to battle against my emotional eating.

That being said, I cleaned out my kitchen and went grocery shopping and started back on track as of Monday. Today I am super nauseous, well within like the past 2 hours. I ate breakfast around 8:30 am (2 eggs scrambled with spinach and cheese cooked in butter). Normally I have an iron stomach and have never had this feeling in the past when getting back in the low carb groove.

Is nausea a normal part of switching to back to low carb and I've just been lucky enough in the past to not experience it? It is so strong that someone in my office was crunching on carrots and I had to turn up the volume on my music because the sound was grating on my ears and I felt like I was going to be sick...the thought of food is turning my stomach.

How's your gall bladder? (my pet issue, myself)

I get nausea in the beginning as well...I'll have something salty (something I can actually stomach because everything sounds gross then) & it usually improves. Have some broth & add extra sodium, or something comforting. The thought of a pickle would turn me off.

I tend to think it's an electrolyte issue. I had it in the beginning and it always went away when I had something salty.

same here, if I drank a little salt water it would help, it may be adjusting to digesting all the increased fat, or not digesting all the extra carbs that its used to. but something salty usually helps me when I get that feeling

Good to know...because I eventually felt better and ate lunch & dinner yesterday. But now this morning had another wave of it while getting out of bed. If I wasn't single and going through a dry spell, I'd be afraid I was pregnant and experiencing morning sickness :)

I have pickles and olives on hand, so perhaps I'll try popping a few before bed and see if that combats this early day ickiness.

    Thanks again!

This isn't the first time I've fallen off the wagon unfortunately...but I did completely derail from February until this week. But in the past when I started back up, I don't recall feeling this way? I do feel like I'm doing damage to my body this last time around because I was doing so well and lost 37 pounds, only to gain it back all within the same year...maybe it's just too severe of a yo-yo on my body in such a short span of time?

This may be too much information...but I'm an emotional eater and the past year has been a whirlwind. I moved out from a 9 year relationship, started taking better care of myself, eventually started dating, and accidentally got involved with an alcoholic. When that crumbled, he got verbally abusive and I started stuffing my face with everything and eating my emotions while coping. My poor body has been through a lot.

Anywhooo...I guess I needed to release a little bit there, sorry about that.

Soooo, I have pickles and olives on hand, so perhaps I'll try popping a few before bed and see if that combats this early day ickiness while my body adjusts to yet again more changes.

Thanks so much for the insight!

Thanks @KnitOrMiss I do appreciate it!
It wasn't until I started writing that post that I realized how much had really transpired over the year. No time to dwell, just back to getting healthy! xoxo!
