I'm new to low carb and think it might be easier for me if I batch cook veggies and meats.

Does any members do this and if so can you tell me how long different meats will last in the fridge.

Chicken
Steak
Pork chops
Hamburger

Thanks

I can't say how long in the fridge they last, but all those meats freeze well and re-heat nicely. (steak can dry out sometimes when re-heated) I have found most veggies will re-heat ok from frozen(watch how much liquid you freeze with them). One freezer meal that didn't turn out well was zoodles with the sauce already over them. When re-heated they turned into a big mushy mess...

Spaghetti squash freezes (individual portions) then reheats well...

How long things last depends on the quality of your meats, how you package them, and how cold your fridge is, among other things.

    Chicken, skin on - 3-4 days - breasts/thighs/skinless - up to a week.
Steak - I don't go more than a day or so without nibbling.
Beef Roast, however - similar to chicken - 5 -7 days, if kept in juice and such.
Chops - 3-4 days, again, depending on prep. Pork Roast - a little longer.
Hamburger - This never lasts long enough in my house to go bad - and I generally cook 5 pounds ground or so at a time. Individual cooked items can be frozen and warmed later easily.

As for veggies, most last 3-5 days, depending on prep. However, it is super simple to invest in a steam basket to steam veggies on the stove while you're warming up your meat. Broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, brussels, etc. Some veggies are more enjoyable roasted, too... Depending on which veggies, they don't keep as well raw.
