Help-moved to small town without a pool

I moved to a small town two years ago without a pool. The closest I've found is 35 miles away and quite expensive. Does anybody have any suggestions? There is a private university in our town but they don't allow the public to swim.

    Do any local schools have a pool you could use? Or a gym with an endless pool? Open water options?
