One year down and the rest of my life to go...

Yesterday was my one year surgical anniversary. I had my check up on Monday. Official (surgeon's scale) total weight loss so far is 137 pounds.
I'm 40 years old. 5' 4". Starting weight 285. Surgical weight 256. Current 147-ish.
A year ago I couldn't run anywhere close to a mile. Today I ran 6 miles...and called it a rest day. I don't consider anything less than 10 miles a full workout anymore.
I struggled with sleep apnea for years...today it is gone.
Unfortunately, my period is completely kittened up...lol. Never had a problem all the years I was fat but I get thin and my proper girl functions go AWOL. Annoying.
I can't believe that it took me two years to finally commit to the surgery...or that I have managed to be successful. I had set very conservative weight goals and not only met them but surpassed them more quickly than I could have ever imagined.
The "big pants" picture represents the straw that broke the camel's back. I needed a pair of jeans but decided to NOT buy the size that would have fit (24)...I went without and scheduled the appointment with the surgeon instead. I now wear an 8/10 depending on the brand.

You look amazing but I am more impressed with your running!! Being able to run 10+ miles is so inspiring!!
Can I ask you a question? Did you ever find that training for longer distances messed with your weight loss? I've heard when people start to train for HM and beyond that weight loss is harder to achieve. (this is for individuals with normal stomachs). I'm learning to run and I am trying to determine what my max distance should be...
Again congrats!!!!1 -

@lizzieloo934 I wouldn't say the training necessarily makes losing more difficult but rather that is a function of being so close to a normal weight for my height. It is difficult to readjust my thinking that I should be losing multiple pounds per week at this point. I have worked very hard and been very compliant...but I know that my results are atypical. I am also struggling to figure out what an appropriate amount of food is. Even if I eat very slowly, I have difficulty detecting fullness for 30-40 minutes. I have to be very disciplined about eating my allotted food and then waiting at least an hour to determine if I am still hungry or just craving. My view of a normal serving is just as distorted as it was prior to surgery...just in the other direction! The good news is that I was told by the surgeon and nurse practioner that regardless of my BMI, I am at a healthy weight and considering my activity level that I should eat more and focus on maintenance.0
