They set out to test performance and wound up proving that people spontaneously eat less while in ketosis. LOL That seems to happen in many of these studies, making it hard to keep it eucaloric. I suppose it is a good problem for ketofiles to have.2

I agree with this in my personal life experience
Not that it would be considered empirical evidence, but carbs create a desire for carbs. So unless I am in the middle of strenuous exercise, sugar any big punch of carbs is just counterproductive.
It is easier to manage the craving monster if I don't poke it with the sugar stick. Keto is a solid appetite suppressant.
