Well after 1100 minutes and 110000 steps hiking last week (don't know how many altitude meters, but probably 2000-3000 up and down) my week of vacation in the Austrian Mountains is over. Weather wasn't perfect but drier than expected and I actually prefer cooler weather when hiking.

Here is another little highlight from last week... First time for me in a paraglider. Very cool!

Summer is back now and after my horse back ride, I shall go to the lake for a ride on my SUP.

My next 3 weeks I will be here and there and try to get an odd fast or two in per week. As of August I will need to get back to 'the program' in full. Until then I will enjoy my vacation and stay active B)

Have an awesome Sunday!

Flumi, you continue to amaze me with all of the variety of things you do to stay active!! Keep it up!! I may have an "accidental" FD today. I'm up now at 4:30 am to help at my sons triathlons and will be very busy and preoccupied until lunch. If I can manage it, I'll just hold off until dinner. My new favorite beverage for FD is kombucha, which is fizzy so it keeps me full. I got word that there may be another option to my ballet class, so I'm optimistic. The threat is that it will be cancelled permanently. Apparently, there is a lack of stay at home moms who dance?!? Who knew? At any rate, all may not be lost. I've decided a few things about my weight loss and eating plan. After reading a few new things, I've decided to try to get to my ideal weight once summer is over. I read a very interesting article about losing weight and proteins associated with cancer. With the situation with my mom, being at a good weight has become even more important!! Also, per Mamas advice, I have added strength training. So, I think I'm covered. 5:2 keeps me thin, ballet keeps my head on straight, strength training keeps me strong, kombucha makes my gut biome happy, and meditation keeps me grounded. Have I forgotten anything?? :D

My few months away have not been good, 7kg back on. but it has remotivated me to start logging again.

However medical problems have curtailed my cycling which is bad news. But I am hoping that a procedure on 1st August will put things right. I can then start upping the mileage a bit more.

Oh and yes I do do pushups as part of my circuit training, but the main emphasis is on planks, front, back and side. This is to improve my core strength.

Welcome back Flumi ! I'm in total agreement with Flossy with how amazed I am at the variety of activities you keep yourself occupied with! Love your pic! What an exciting & terrifying thing to do ... Good for you, enjoy the rest of your vacation B)

Flossy I feel for ya with your class.... As I know you love your dancing so I'm keeping fingers crossed for you that you find more participants! Maybe a flyer or news bulletin on the Parent committees for your sons school? How about yoga??

Hey @Marmitegeoff sorry to hear about your cycling taking a turn for you... I'm sure you'll be back at it after August. My husband went too far and too hard one day and he is still suffering & that was 3 weeks ago! I've tried the planks and have gotten pretty good which had me thinking about the push-ups... Good idea on the side planks etc so I'll try those....it is so good for the core and the bonus is, after I do them, I feel very full so the last thing I want to do is eat... Which is awesome on a fast day!

I have my eating back under control again, and when school starts again in a month, I will be getting 8-10,000 steps 5 days a week. But I really need to work on getting toned up. All you ladies talking about push ups and planks have inspired me!

Hey ladies - gotta keep life interesting and the tandem rides were much cheaper than in Switzerland. So I thought. ..what the heck, why not...well worth it. My stomach was a bit flussy at the end, but starting and landing were actually not hard at all.

Flossy- hope you do find an alternative class. Would probably be like taking the horses away from me. So I totally understand.

Mama- lots of different planks and push ups on YouTube. Got the traveling pu as well as many others from good old Jillian. ..30day shred. I think part 2 has a lot of them as well as part 3.

    That's a great photo, Flumi!

Second week into 5:2 and today is my first FD of the week. Finding it harder today as feeling a hunger wave and its only 2pm. Gonna drink some water and then go find something to do in the garden.

It's so nice to see everyone back!! And so many new people, too!! Marmite, hang in there!! Glad you are back on track in terms of MFP, but I am sorry to hear you've had a setback with cycling. Getting sidelined by an injury or other health-related issue is so frustrating, especially when you need time to recover.

Hi flossy, I do need to track the calories, but I got very frustrated by the adverts slowing my whole system down.

The health issue is AF (Atrial Fibulation ) where my resting pulse is very high, I have been told to cycle as much as possible (good) oh but take these pills that will make it very hard work.

Still it is pre op assessment today so we will see how it goes.

@Marmitegeoff To get rid of the ads on this (and every other) site I use adblock plus - which is free and can be found here: https://adblockplus.org/ It's safe, widely used and will make your online time a more pleasant experience.

Despite yesterday being a tough FD, by the evening I was fine and weighing myself this morning, I am down two pounds from last Tuesday, so very happy!

Hey, Marmite! Sorry to hear about your atrial fibrillation, I'm very familiar with it having worked in cardiac rehabilitation. I assume you are getting cardioverted? It's a quick procedure that you won't remember. I am glad it isn't an injury...your downtime will be short. You'll be on your bike in no time! Keep us posted :)

Might go for a shorter tour tomorrow afternoon, but a swim in the Rhine with my swim friends in the early morning followed by a horse back ride. It's supposed to be very hot tomorrow B)

I went out for lunch today with the ladies from the local theatre group. It was lovely! I was able to relax about what I was eating because today is a 'normal' day - and whilst I didn't go silly (didn't have the frites and the bread, didn't have the wine), I was really able to enjoy the occasion, knowing that I will be fasting tomorrow. This really is the perfect eating plan.

Coming to the end of my second week and I've lost 5 pounds in the last fortnight since starting 5:2. Very happy with this. I realise some of it will be water weight but if I continue to lose at least a pound a week, I'll be more than happy. I'm also finding the fast days manageable. I go to bed earlier than usual on those days to speed the next day on, but that's fine as I tend to go to bed later than I should, so this change is a welcome one.
