Frustrated with emotional eating

So tired of resorting to eating! It's really interfering with my progress. Came home tonight and ate things I shouldn't have. Think I realize stress is a huge factor. How are you changing this pattern for yourself? How do you manage stres in a healthy way?

This is a probelm for me too. I took some time to really try to understand why I overeat. Was very difficult to admit some of the underlying things in my life that I was unhappy with but not willing to admit. I realized I had put aside some tough situations I've gone through in the last 5 years or so. I never really "dealt" with the emotions. So, after some soul searching and tears, I realized that my emotional eating is now become more of a probelm and not a solution to anything.
So, I decided to make a list of things to do when I feel certain emotions. For example, when I am frustrated I will journal. When I'm angry or stressed I will take a walk or go to the gym. When I'm sad I'll call my friend to talk about it. I've just started this so I can't say it's a full solution, but I think if I train myself to deal with the emotion I can break the "have some yummy food" cycle. Sorry so long!4
