Not new to MFP (or SB...) but coming back to SB

Hi, I am a lifetime dieter and over and over see that plans like SB work best for me. I went and got the newer book and a cookbook last night and was going to start today but didn't pack lunch so I went by the grocery store and got a pre packaged Cobb Salad with blue cheese. I figured for today, that was probably the better choice. How long have you been on SB and how much weight did you lose and in what time frame? I know it's got to be a way of life and I'm trying to look at it from that perspective.
Thanks!Tiffany

Welcome aboard, Tiffany. I too am a lifelong dieter--basically, a lapsed Weight Watcher who just got tired of losing, making Lifetime, and regaining the weight. I've been on SB since mid-March--essentially for health reasons (prediabetic)--and I find it much easier to stay on than any other program. There are the basic principles and almost no counting, although I find I do best when I just write down what I eat. I had already lost a lot of weight on Weight Watchers, so I was down to my last few pounds; I went straight to Phase 2 and have lost 7 lbs. It doesn't sound like much, but I've had trips in between, and I'm fine with not adhering to Phase 2 100%. I figure 90% is fine, and I've learned not to feel bad about minor lapses. My weight is the lowest it has been in at least 20 years. I too am looking at this as a way of life. Good luck, and check in frequently. When I first started back in March, the support from Sabine and Magic was invaluable.1

You're doing so great!

Hi Tiffany. I just started week 2 of Phase 1. I've lost 5 lbs so far! I am also "back again" as I have done SB a few times before. Life-long dieter. I will never fit in to societies view of "thin".
My best tool has been to plan, plan, plan! If I have the food ready to eat and with me (at work) then I'm successful. At home, my hardest moments are at night when I crave sugar! I'm also a bad nite time eater. I would eat so many calories after supper that it was ridiculous. I just made myself a chocolate avocado pudding--avocado, cocoa powder, milk, agave nectar, and vanilla. super quick, yummy, and SB friendly!
I'm going to Jamaica in May 2017 for my friends wedding so I am super motivated to get down to my goal weight, if not more. Good luck!1 -
Welcome, Rose,
I so agree with you about planning. It is really helpful. I used to be a night-time eater till I developed insomnia; night-time eating interferes with sleep so I had to cut it out--a blessing in disguise?
Anyway, do check in frequently and let us know how you are doing. Also, there's a thread called something like Strolling thru Phase 2, which might prove helpful to you since we list menus (I've gotten some good ideas there) and provide support for each other.1 -
You are all welcome to join us in the following thread...posting our menus and getting and giving support. Great time to come on over...August is super for setting ourselves up for a successful fall/winter/eating season!
