This thread is for GOADies who like to run. New runners, old runners, and even wannabe runners meet here to discuss the joys and challenges of running. Use this space to log your miles, ask questions, or post anything else related to running.
New runners - and even those just thinking about starting out - are always welcome. There's no reason to lurk here. Join the pack and tell us about your running!
Oftentimes the GotR thread will pose a question or raise an issue in order to facilitate the conversation, but this is always an open forum to chat about any running-related topic.
Topic: weekend running -- what's your plan? Any races or fun long runs? Have a great weekend, all!

DW is due to start C25K on Monday as she has a 5K coming up mid-October. She doesn't think she likes to run, but I am curious to see how the training goes.
I am still doing all types of cardio aside of running as I try and drop some wgt first before working into C25K. The better I feel, the harder it is to stick to my plan of waiting until Sept to restart C25K for my Thanksgiving 5K goal.0 -
Long run planned for Sunday as it appears that thunderstorms are in the forecast for tomorrow morning. Not sure of mileage. One of my running buddies is training for a marathon. Theoretically, I am too as my trail marathon is the same weekend as hers (mid September). I just had cataract surgery this past Tuesday and while the surgeon said no restrictions on running, I'm still being cautious for another week or so.0

I ran 1 mile on the TM last night, then did an pared down strength workout. It's been a while . . . jeez . . . but it's the bruised rib injury that's been holding me back. It's just a wee bit sore still. I'm looking forward to 60-90 minutes on the bike this evening, then maybe see how 5 miles feels on Sat morning. Sweet weekend shaping up here - nice break from summer heat and humidity.0

Planning on running 40 minutes tomorrow morning as my pre-meeting run. Not running Sunday as we are driving to Pensacola to have a couple of beach days before school starts Wednesday. I will definitely be running while at the beach.0
