Because I have to take so many vitamins I've often thought of giving Zeal a try - now I have a reason more than ever. My oldest daughter and her husband are on the bandwagon for it. Anyone have any thoughts on it, used it or heard why or why not it is or isn't good for our WOE? I KNOW that drinking my vitamins is way better than consuming the 34 pills I take every single day...but what about for LCHF?

Thanks!

5 net carbs, ingredients look clean...I don't see any red flags there. I say give it a shot!

Will that really replace all your other pills?

It will replace them all and probably add some stuff I don't take but should. Net carbs was my first question and I was ok with that too. I think that I probably have at least that in my pills. I don't log them because regardless of my carbs I have to take them and don't want pills to be something I have to budget, so I don't think I'd budget in the Zeal either...

I have a friend who swears by this product, and sells it too, but some of their marketing fluff annoys me. However, not having researched it myself recently, from what I recall, it seemed to be fairly solid. I'd question if there are AM and PM formulas, specifically, since you shouldn't take D (am) and A (pm) together, and other things like this. One that is very expensive, but might still be less expensive that taking individual supplements as I currently do, that I've looked into is by Calton Nutrition, and called Nutrience (or something like that). The focus on two formulas that work together that balance competing nutrients into the two different formulas and focus on including co-factors. But some of their marketing is a mess, too. I just think that from what I researched in the formulation changes they've improved in the last few years that this **could** be a decent option, but it requires more research to see how much of additional things (like D3/K2, magnesium, etc.) that I would want to supplement above and over the quantities they include.

I do, however, like the twice a day supplementing approach, as many vitamins and minerals do have about a 12 hour life in your body, so supplementing twice a day makes sense. Also, ensuring that you have enough stomach acids/digestive enzymes in your system to properly break down and absorb the nutrients your body needs is critical - and I'm beginning to think that a certain amount of supplementation in this category is far more important than we realize, particularly if we've ever eaten anything close to a Standard American Diet...high in carbs, grains, gluten, added sugars, etc.

Main problems with a liquid/powder is that each time you open it, you expose the remaining formula to air, allowing for nutrient breakdown - that you get less bang for your buck toward the end of your packaging... Individual packets seem so wasteful and somewhat like a marketing ploy. I'd love to see actual independently verified research that shows how much issue oxidation actually causes... Plus, aren't there more products in the Zeal line than just a daily vitamin drink? I'd have to do some checking to see what I think before I'd say yes or no, personally.

@Dragonwolf - What are your thoughts on Zeal or other liquid forms of vitamins?

I don't like having to mix things, personally, so I am as close to 100 pill driven as possible. I take my supplements in divided doses with each meal. Much more portable that way, too.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone! @KnitorMiss they also sell protein powders and "diet products" which I can do without. I am only thinking about the potential for knocking back my vitamins in one swig :-)
