@Kirstie155 that's awesome you are wearing a new dress in a medium today! That's such a great feeling. Even though your weight is being frustrating, the NSVs show you are clearly making progress! You will get there :)

    Monday Weigh In:
    8/15: 192
    8/22: 191.8
    8/29: 193.6

haha well I'm not surprise that I'm showing a gain because I've been over calories pretty much every day and I had two homemade pepperoni rolls yesterday. According to the recipe builder, they are about 610 calories each. My dad makes them maybe twice a year so I wasn't passing them up because of calories and they taste the best when they are fresh out of the oven. I was also at 191.6 yesterday morning so I'm pretty sure there is some water retention going on from all the sodium. Even so, I do need to reign it in because at the rate I'm going, I'm never going to reach my goal until I get consistent and get the downward trend back so here's to a new week and kicking a**!

EDIT: I forgot about all the previous post I wanted to reply to. haha

@VeryKatie I tend to multitask when I have something on the TV because unless it's a show that really has my interest or needs my undivided attention, I have to be doing something else while it's on. I usually have my laptop open doing something on it. I think it keeps me distracted so I don't want to snack. Not sure it's much help for you but just thought I'd throw it out there.

@puffbrat Keep it up! You're doing great!

@Kirstie155 Is it possible that your scale needs recalibrated? or needs new batteries? Just a thought.
That's awesome about the dress and other NSV! Keep it up!

Kind of wonky for me to do this but I want to get into the habit of weighing weekly only. Maybe 2 times a week but not more. Spoils the surprise!

    8/15: 141.2
    8/22: 140.8
    8/29: 141.2
    9/01: 140.0

Also going to take measurements this Saturday!

Batteries on my scale said LO today, then wouldnt turn on...perhaps they are dead, after all-you called that, @WifiresGettingFit although the last time my scale acted up I was losing weight at incredible rates, like 20#, then 30# then 150# each time I stepped on....though that wasn't the batteries, it was broken and had to be replaced. New batteries tonight.

Anyway, have gotten tired of seeing 191 or 192 for the past month, and decided yesterday to do a fat/egg fast. Its similar to fasting, but I love eating and wanted to continue working out, so I'm eating eggs, cheese and butter at a reduced calorie intake for 3 days minimum. I'm shooting for about 1k calories each day.
Would like to do longer, but labor day weekend is upon us and I will likely eat some bbqed meats.
Wednesday AM (before egg/fat fast) 192.6
Thursday AM (after one day on egg/fat fast) 191.6

Of course, my scale may be broken, and those are the two damn numbers I keep seeing on the scale for almost 30 days straight, but fasting or dramatically reducing calories should brake this damn plateau Ive been stuck on. Plateaus are MADDENING!! :rage:

Still working out, clothes still fitting great! But that scale though...maddening, I say!

    D1:191.6
    D2: 189.8!! :grin::grin::grin:

    Finally out of the 190s!!

Blah. I screwed up my progress by over eating bad things this weekend. Happy Labor Day!
I dont remember what I was Monday, but today I was 191.? so back to where I was stuck. Back in the swing of things, and might do another round of low calorie/egg fasting thing to get back on track because Im tired of seeing 19X on the scale every morning!! :confounded:

    This is late. haha

    Monday Weigh In:
    8/15: 192
    8/22: 191.8
    8/29: 193.6
9/5: Unknown - Out Of Town (No Scale)
*I did weigh in today at 192.8. This was after my vacation so I only put on two pounds from the weight I was before I left which isn't bad since we ate out for just about every meal. At this rate, I don't see myself losing the 20 pounds by December. I'm thinking along the lines of maybe 15 if I'm lucky. haha I'll be happy with that though because progress is progress even if it's slow. I just need to get and stay consistent.

9/08: I got nothin' - out of town. Been eating too poorly so I'm glad I can't weigh in honestly. And I wasn't going to weigh in on Sept 5 lol.

....and then I over ate by a million calories. Damnit >.< Well ladies, let's get back on track!

Rules for myself for the next 7 days:
NO eating after 7pm (my worst time of day)

Let's just keep it to the one rule for now, and see if I can layer it.

Oh, and eat on plan. Obvi.

I totally forgot to do this

    8/15: 167.6
    8/22: 167.6
    8/29: 166.6
    9/5: 166.2

It's interesting that is loss for me based on my Monday weights since it was a noticeable gain from Friday. Of course I am now up to 167 today because I can't get myself under control. Yesterday was fine but the previous several days were not.

I need to remember to take measurements this week.

For consistency - even though it's late:

    Monday Weigh In:

    8/15: 192
    8/22: 191.8
    8/29: 193.6
9/5: Unknown - Out Of Town (No Scale)
    9/12: 194.4

    @Kirstie155
To answer your question, I'm pretty sure I like food more than I like my goals or the prospect of having the body I want. haha

Well I lifted yesterday, and am wearing my new size medium dress again today  even though I weighed in at 191 again, I do have those 2 small things.

Trying some old favorite recipes this next week. Sweet potato salmon cakes, and a no bean pumpkin chili. And I have a leg of lamb defrosting, so I might make a Shepards pie! Unless anyone has a better idea of what to do with it?

Gah, I feel like we are all maintaining. This stinks, cause pumpkin season is right around the corner with dark, cold nights and warm chili and cookies. <--- might be the reason I have weight to lose in the first place
    Maintaining is better than gaining!

Good job @VeryKatie for maintaining while out of town. @puffbrat I hope you are feeling better soon!

Apparently I'm back where I started this challenge which is frustrating and disheartening. I was doing so well once we started this challenge. And then I stopped doing my daily walks when the dog had surgery at the end of August. Then I let my eating slide when my husband and I got sick. Time to get back on track.

All of this week's dinners should be pretty good calorie-wise. I just have to control my snacking and dessert eating. Got back to lifting last nigh after about 1.5 weeks off. I will have to get back to walking also, although I'm still really congested.

Im with you @puffbrat . I am so frustrated and feel like just giving up, and saying why bother!? Sorry you still arent feeling well.

I just had my period (oh. my. god. such terrible cramps and the whole PMS 9 yards this time around) and still bloated and heavy on the scale. I stayed on plan even though I was out of town all weekend, and the only "bad" food I had was some "nice cream" which is 1 cup of mashed frozen banana, 1/3 can of coconut cream..maybe about a 1/3 cup?, and 3T cocoa powder blended and frozen a bit longer to firm up. it was really delicious and I ate it twice. Better than eating a tub of real ice cream, or a bag of chocolates. It comes to about 300 calories, 40 carbs, 20 sugars-but from all real food sources. And it was SO TASTY!

Anyway, beyond frustrated at the scale, my bloated belly and everything. Why is this SO HARD?
Sigh. Maybe I will feel better in a few days once the pms symptoms fade completely

    How is everyone else doing?

@Kirstie155 It is really hard to stick with it when we aren't seeing the results we want and struggling to stay on plan! That really sucks you are having horrible cramps and PMS. My cramps have been getting worse again this year which scares me because they use to be debilitating one or two days a month. I take 800mg of ibuprofen every 4-6 hours on the days my cramps are bad, plus drink hot tea and use a heating pad. My cousin turned me on to Thermacare Heat Wraps Menstrual Cramp Relief that really help. You can wear them during the day under your clothes and last like 6 or 8 hours. The only thing is they are kind of pricey for a box of only three.

That nice cream sounds really good!

Well it's at least going in the right direction now haha but still a little higher than when we started.

@kirstie155 & @puffbrat You guys can do this! I am not saying it isn't hard (It is) and that it doesn't suck sometimes (It does) but I think one of the main things is to not try for perfection but to try to make each day better. You are going to have bad days. You are going to eat over sometimes. It's just inevitably going to happen because life and I think it's important to not let it discourage you. So you have a bad day? It isn't the end of the world. So you have a bad week? Make this one better! So you've gotten off track? (who hasn't at least once) Just work your way back - which of course is what we've all been trying to do. Planning is great but life doesn't always follow the plan or go as planned. Just keep at it and you'll get there. (Now just to read this to myself. haha I hope it was as uplifting as it sounded in my head. haha)

Crap! Forgot to do this on Monday again. And double crap for my weight :#

    8/15: 167.6
    8/22: 167.6
    8/29: 166.6
    9/5: 166.2
    9/12: ??
    9/19: 167.4
    9/26: 168.4

Last week was awful for my diet. Wednesday through Friday I was STARVING! I just couldn't get or stay full no matter what or how much I ate, so I just kept eating. Some of that enormous weight gain had to be water retention, but I know not all of it was. Thankfully things went back to normal Saturday. My husband thinks it is from starting lifting since that makes him super hungry. He could be right. I wonder if it was hormonal though. The last three months I have gotten much hungrier the couple days before my period started. While it still hasn't started, I expected my period to begin sometime Thursday-Saturday.

@puffbrat It's likely a combination of both. I can't speak for lifting but I have insatiable days before my period and sometimes while I'm on it and it doesn't matter how much I eat or what I eat. I'm a bottomless pit. A bloated, miserable bottomless pit and I tend to crave carbs during that time as well which makes me want more carbs.

@Kirstie155 It is definitely better than gaining. That's what I keep telling myself. haha
