Just a reminder: Don't get hung up on the scale!

I am a very visual learner so these pictures were very helpful - thank you so much!2

Glad the pics helped...mine sure saved me from going crazy and having a little breakdown. I had already cut my calories and was considering upping my cardio and possibly dropping my weightlifting altogether, even though I LOVE it. Because obviously, the scale is King, and what I was doing was making the King angry. So I was prepared to stop
That picture snapped me back to my senses. Screw you, scale!! *Lifts heavy things and eats more*6 -
All these posts are AHMAZING! I refuse to let the scale dictate to me! I just found a pair of skinny jeans i bought 3 years ago that were a size 11 in juniors (I was in serious denial of my size lol). I just found them and although they still have a little bit to fit, Im keeping them as my GOAL JEANS
I call those "sizin' britches".4 -
I wanted to share my experience with the fickle scale.
I have been losing and gaining the same 5 pounds since January, but I don't really mind because I'm not kicking my butt with exercise (pretty much just do any at all) and I'm not counting calories anymore and I'm still getting smaller somehow.
Here's a comparison from waaaay back in September when I weighed 2 pounds more than I do today. Yes, I've only lost 2 pounds in the last 11+ months... But I've lost them like 10 times! Lol
Seems like more than 2 to me. Was wearing a size 10, maybe just barely starting to fit into 8's about that time. Wearing a 6 now and just starting to fit into 4's now. I'm actually wearing the same shorts in those. I don't think you can really tell, but in the first one, the shirts fit snug like those kind of shorts are supposed to. In the second, the extra fabric is wrinkled up at my butt and under my belly and the legs don't even touch all the way around my thigh at the bottom anymore. 2 pounds! I don't lift weights. I don't run or walk or anything. I have done those things like maybe 5 times since then! Lol
Somehow, you can lose fat while not losing weight. The usual explanation is muscle gain, but I don't do anything to develop new muscle.
Here's another great example from a point when I was down those 2 pounds I keep losing and gaining.
I'm actually heavier now than I was then. But I'm smaller. The scale is not the best tool for viewing your physical progress. Clearly!
I have actually been as low as 132 but I don't have a picture from that exact time. I do have one from 134, but I'm wearing different shorts and I think it's too hard to see the differences clearly in different clothes. I may get a photo in those clothes too so I can see my big 4 pound gain! Lol9
