LCHF/200+/ Looking for like-minded friends

I just started doing LCHF. I was on MFP a year ago, but let Negative Nellie's talk me out of my plan, that was working, but did not fit their ideas of what I need to do. I let people's opinion affect me too much. I got discouraged and quit. A year later I am at the same weight (no gain but still huge). Now, I am back, I deleted all my friends, good and bad because I don't know who's who, and decided to start fresh. I need to loose 250+. Seriously. I tried low carb before but got very little results and sick. Now I realize I ate way too much protein, still believing fat was bad. I am trying to go as natural as possible, too. Like avoiding processed foods, low carb junk made in factories, ect. I also have a cynical view of modern health care and traditional medications. I am looking for like-minded friends on LCHF and accountability buddies. No negative Nellie's please. If your philosophies differ, that is fine and dandy, just don't try to impose them on me. I don't expect my friends to be exactly like me but let's at least be in the same neighborhood. Low carb high fat, maybe some intermittent fasting is my plan and exercise once I get to normal fat girl ststus. I can't do it yet. Thanks for reading and God Bless!

HI, FR sent.....I am LCHF since Jan 2016, T2D ......taking it one day , one meal at a time...some good days , some not so good, but I never give up and I am seeing results.... FINALLY!! So it can take a bit of time for some ...but you can do it!

You can add me as a friend. I don't have much left to lose but would love to cheer you on and watch your progress. I'm not much for modern health care either and think most things can be cured with diet (this way of eating has worked wonders for my arthritis and fibro.)4

I would love to be friends. I started being 100% LCHF on July 5th and I am not feeling deprived at all. I really like this WOE. I have zero confidence in a lot of the treatments and past advice I received from my Drs of the past. Medicines they gave me made a lot of my health problems so much worse. I really don't think they cared enough to help me. I have around 180 to lose. I have taken myself off of several meds ( I don't advice this) the Good Lord is my helper. I am feeling so much better. I have some serious spinal issues and if it wasn't for the pain from that I would feel great. I have tons of energy just not the body to go with it
I pray daily for healing and I'm trusting one day for it to come in the meantime I am going to do all I can to get my health back. This WOE is working. Friend request sent. I'm doing Atkins Modified Fat Fast (started with his straight Fat Fast). I started 4/30/2016, and I've lost 55 lbs already. I'm eating zero carbs, except for the occasional day out here or there where I can't avoid it (weddings, for example). I also have done some intermittent fasting when I plateau, and I'm currently doing daily 16-hour fasts. I'll change it up next plateau. I still have a little over 100 lbs to lose. Once I reach 250 lbs (not long now!) I'm going to start adding carbs in 5g at a time to see if I can have them and still lose weight. I'm sure I'm insulin resistant, since Atkins Induction did nothing for me, but at zero carbs I could finally lose weight. I'm hoping that losing 50 or 60 lbs will have corrected that. Let's work on our goals together! I'm living proof this WOE works.5

Pleased to see you on the LCHF boards OP. I don't think you'll find any negative nellies in this group though...it's a very warm, welcoming and knowledgeable group of MFP low carbers you've joined here and we're all happy to cheer you on with your efforts so keep up the good work!!7

I just ignore and keep pushing on. I need to loose about 40 lbs and it's going very...very slow, but I hang in there.1

Sending FR. I also started last year and was discouraged by diabetes educator and nutritionist. But here I am a year later with even more to lose (70) and out of control T2D. Have an appt with new doc on Sept. 6. We'll see what she says. Looking forward to seeing your posts and success.0

Welcome! Unsure how all this social media works but feel free to contact me!! This site has been my salvation, truly. I started 2.5 years ago at 250lbs so I know JUST how you feel! I've lost almost 70lbs, mainly through LCHF. I came into this via Atkins but soon realised my carb count was too low and unsustainable ( my own issues with doing stuff to the " n" the degree I think! ). I now hover just under 50 carbs per day, which suits me.
Talk about exercise? Don't wait.....I started on a gym bike thinking I was going to DIE after.......10 minutes!!!! I've just completed a Coast to Coast bike ride here in UK, where I cycled 40 MILES in one day! Who the hell would've thought it?!
You won't find negativism here.....just help and support.
Go girl! If I can do it..... ANYONE can!

Welcome back mapooh. I've twice lost significant weight using Atkins style of eating when it was low carb but also lower in fat. I've been doing strictly LCHF for about two months with a couple of slips in there. My weight is slowly coming down (post menopause makes a difference), but I feel so much better. Ketoflu was a problem for a while, but I got help with that and now it isn't.
If I could suggest a book to read, it's Dr. Jason Fung's "The Obesity Code". That book made me really understand for the first time why eat less/move more didn't work for me. He looks at some archaic but mostly contemporary studies about diets, exercise, insulin, insulin resistance, cortisol, blood sugar, etc. I stopped feeling guilty for failing in the past.
Finding what works best for YOU is so important. I eat 20 g carb or less a day b/c I feel best that way and my fbs has come down quite a bit. Not dxd T2D, but that was coming soon. Anyway, the best to you. I will send a friend request.1 -

I do not have a lot to lose but must follow this woe for my body. This is best to keep fit, with bad carbs I always feel hungry With fats, I eat tasty food and remain full much longer. I would like some friends too.0

I log my food but not my exercise as I don't want that added to my calories allowed. Good luck0
