Any Canadians have or are waiting for WLS? What's your story?
I'm in Nova Scotia and I've been waiting for surgery for 4 years. The wait list is currently 10 years here! I'll be having VSG this fall. I'm still working hard to lose as much as I can before surgery. Currently down 85lbs!

I live in Ontario and had it done 8 month ago. I'm down 110lbs and very excited about that! I have a ways to go and have started to slow down and plateau but that is okay. I am a lot stronger now and can run 4 miles3

I'm in Edmonton. I had to wait from referral to 1st consult...17 mths...that was last May...today makes 22 mths of waiting. Now I have been making monthly trips to visit either the dietitian, nurse, and psychologist., and sometimes all 3. They told me at the May appt, I could be looking at another 2 years before surgery. I took all the required classes, to help speed up time...didn't make a difference. I have the goal given to me of 10%, and I am not allowed to gain...if I gain (from start weight) I am automatically out of the program. So far I've lost 16lbs...but it fluctuates between visits...but so far each visit has been a loss. I couldn't imagine waiting 10 years...as it is my total wait time will be 3yrs...might even be closer to 4yrs before it's all said and done. It's frustrating for sure, but I have already exhausted everything else...so I am trying to learn, watch the diet, change over habits to make new ones...and be ready so I will be successful.1
