Fasting

I have been going through the launch pad and gave found lots of awesome info. Now not sure if I just haven't gotten to it yet, or if I skipped it somehow... What about fasting? Since beginning this WOL, I have fasted almost a full 24 hours, and today I am just flat not hungry. I have drank a cup of buttered coffee with 1/4 tsp of salt, but that's it. Is it okay to fast this early in the Keto game, or am I hurting myself? I am keeping a closer watch on my electrolyte levels, experienced my first bad, bad, curl up in a ball cramp this morning.
I know we have to eat to lose, but I am truly not hungry.... Sort of confused as to what I should do. Should I force myself to eat a little something, or wait till my tummy growls at me?

As long as you are eating enough calories to meet your minimum needs, eating just once a day is fine. Not eating enough to meet your minimum needs is starving and not good at all.2

@trish55011 - Treasure not being hungry while you can. It will come and go. As long as your deficit over a 7-10 day average is not excessive, not eating much one day is okay periodically. Many folks fit in several days of fasting periodically. As long as it isn't intentional, and you aren't feeling lethargic or what have you, I'd keep on plan. Personally, for me myself, forcing myself to eat when not hungry is as bad as forcing myself not to eat when I am hungry... The natural ebb and flow will return once your body figures out your new game plan.2

check the Open Threads and there are a few on Intermittent Fasting in there. Unless a gremlin got in there and deleted them.2

Sounds like it's not intermittent fasting exactly. More like a fat fast if you're having butter coffee. Since even water fasts are fine for even several days at a time, I don't see why a fat fast for a day or two would be a problem.
Very long fasts seem to cause muscle loss, but a short fast should be fine to do even on a weekly basis.
@DittoDan used to water fast once a week on a regular basis I recall.1 -
Yes, enjoy the feeling of not being hungry! Hungry does come back, and it will usually even out with the days of not being hungry.1

Personally, I never force myself to eat when I am not hungry. On this woe, my appetite comes and goes and I just enjoy those days when it is "gone."2

I literally just finished a 40hr fast. At one point during it I felt mildly hungry, but then got super busy at work (night shift RN) and it passed. I try to eat to appetite as much as possible while staying keto, so broke my fast with 5 whole eggs scrambled in butter with plenty of salt and a big ole mug of coffee with a little heavy cream. When I stay on track it all evens out in the end, a fast day during which I am not truly hungry balances out the day where I eat a 12oz prime rib in addition to my other more regular keto meals.4
