My entire family is super large. At my house we eat very differently. I was still huge but we def eat less processed. I've been logging in and working out hard for almost a month. I feelbliie I'm just building momentum and we are leaving tomorrow to spend 2 days out there. I know its not possible to gain back 17lbs in 2 days. But I feel like if I screw up again....like the 100s of other starts I'm gonna completely fail. Feeling very nervous about this weekend. I plan to hit the gym before leaving. But monday wont have a heavy workout. I just don't want to be in this skin anymore....I don't want to fail.

I know that this was tough for me too. I found that it helped to prepackage snacks, have fresh fruits and vegetables around, and tell people " I'll have some later" helped me feel more in control when at family gatherings. Now, my family just expects me to bring my stuff and to have some Ziploc bags and containers for those later items (I make sure they are the smaller options). They don't feel slighted and I don't feel pressured. Focus on non-food moments and enjoy being with your loved ones.

@jltheis7 has some good practical tips! My tip is an emotional one. Try not to think of following your plan over the weekend as an "all or nothing" thing. Just because you don't stick precisely to what you intended, remember it's not the end of the world. You'll have a chance to make a better decision at the very next meal or snack time. My favorite analogy is to brushing your teeth. Just because you forget to brush your teeth one evening before going to bed doesn't mean you've suddenly become someone who never brushes their teeth! (At least I hope not!) Same thing with healthy eating.

Let us know how it goes (or at this point, how it went!).

I get that, I grew up in very food centric family, and every get together is just a buffet of bad food choices in mass amounts. It's hard to resist, but just write everything down, and even if you go over, that's ok. It's only two days and you can get right back on track!! Let us know how it goes!

I did good while there....but spiralled out after...last week I had at least two heavy binge days. But back at it...mentally back especially!!! Thankfully it only resulted in .6lbs plus on the scale...i was prepared for a lot more. But I'm back in it mentally. I don't know why I found last week so hard.
