Short answer no.
I have had 2 gout attacks. Months before starting LCHF, I started consuming black cherry juice to help with arthritis. I decided to try Atkins LC but not HF and the 1st attack happened immediately. I was told by many people it was the diet so I quit. I went back to my juice thinking it'd help (no). My sister told me to stop the juice because she's had gout for years and hers seemef happened with fruit/juice intake. I did quit it, but the attack lasted two weeks. 2nd time starting LCHF 2 days in, another gout attack. This time I stuck with LCHF. The gout flare started subsiding after only 5 days. I did avoid beef and shrimp but as soon as the gout went away, I started eating both again as they're my favs. Anyway, it's been 2 weeks and no issues at all. My regular arthritis is even better. I'm sure it was fructose and grains, not beef and shrimp causing my issues, also I am insulin resistance and that is mentioned in the article as well. I'll let you know if this changes, but I really think I found the culprit to my gout. Maybe this will help someone else in a similar situation.
