Well this is new...

So I like walking. I like it a lot. I've been doing it for 3 years daily, for 1-3 hours a day depending on my energy levels.

Recently I fell off the keto wagon. And I got back on almost a week ago. Ever since then, I've been getting side cramps when walking, (you know, those cramps that runners also get, which is supposedly because of shallow breathing).

Just wondering if anyone had any idea why, because I doubt my breathing patterns have changed much in 3 years while walking... Lol

I remember those pains off and on after eating say a big Thanksgiving Dinner and our solution was to go walk off some of the calories. Are your eating right before walking? Whether a large amount or small amount, low carb or otherwise, could it be caused by eating before walking?

Could be. But I've been doing it a long time.

I'd call that pain in your side when running a 'stitch'. Its thought to be a result of 'reduction in blood supply to the diaphragm.......caused by fluids which the body finds hard to digest.'

Have you changed your fluid intake type? Maybes its related to hydration or as some people suggest electrolytes.
