New Bra Size?

Options
I started my weight loss journey barely squeezing into a size 10 and now I am a pretty comfortable 4 with not much left to lose. So I am at the point where I am thinking about getting new clothes. As I am sure many of you have experienced when losing weight, my bra size has decreased. But now I have no idea what my actual bra size should be, and was wondering if anyone had tips for helping me figure it out.

I have tried to do the research. But I have been to four different calculators online and have gotten four different sizes: 30B, 32B, 32AA, and 34A. Seriously. Obviously these aren't all right. Some of them have you measuring at the top of your rib cage and using that number for band size. Some have you adding 2 or 4 to that number for band size. Some of you have you measuring under your armpits for band size (even though that's not where the band goes...). And then I get the totally different cup sizes based on adding/subtracting from any of these various band sizes. So I am lost.

(Probably what I will have to do, eventually, is march myself into a store and try a few on. I just don't live within a convenient distance of a mall so it will be a half-day weekend excursion.)

Go to Soma or Victoria Secret and ask them to measure you. They do that everyday.

I need to get fit. But I figure out I'm 34A or 36A.

Use the actual measurement around your ribcage for bra size, don't add any inches! I used to follow that rule and wore 36B for years and years. I was measured at Nordstrom and they gave me a 32D that fit perfectly and felt a hundred times better. I was shocked since I don't have a 'D' sized chest, but cup sizes are really strange!

Ladies, I am about to change your life. http://www.sizemapp.com/en/

You would not believe the difference a properly sized bra makes - back fat is eliminated, waist and stomach look leaner.

Do NOT get measured in store, unless it's a specialist store like Bravissimo. Stores carry a very narrow size range, and it's in their interests to measure you into that range. When I found this out years ago, I had beenfitted in store as a 38C. I turned out to be a 32FF!!!!!

trudiebamford is totally right- many stores carry such a narrow range of sizes and sometimes instruct their employees to suggest sizes that aren't accurate in order to sell product. I've never used sizemapp, but it looks super helpful. After losing 30lbs, I went to a local lingerie boutique that has professional bra-fitting employees- people who learned the techniques without a sales pitch. They were incredibly helpful (and understood my limited budget). I went from wearing a 36DD (& sz.12 dress) to a 32G (sz.8). I was shocked as I don't think of myself as having a large chest, but they explained that it's less my breast size, and more that I have a small ribcage. I went back a year later, after a little bit more weight loss and a lot of firming up, and they re-sized me into a 30E/F (sz. 6).

Give them a shot. I'm all over on Bra sizes too. I started at around a 36DD and I'm around a 34C now...I also fit into a 32D. I keep meaning to re-measure though now that I'm at my goal weight(size 12 to a size 4/6)

This is true. I work in a lingerie store and people are shocked when we fit them, since they're used to VS sizing!
