Okay I am a weakling and slowly working my way up in weight. I am at a 5 pound weights as of now. This is the program I am thinking about trying next.

My questions are should I stick to the 5 pound weight I am at (3 and 5 pound weights are all I have at home) or try to go higher? The program is designed for Mon, Wed, Friday. Should I do cardio on the days I lift or do cardio on the off days? Thanks for helping this beginner out!

Hey Crystal! Congrats on starting a weight program! I started lifting back at the beginning of the year, and at 33 years old, I'm stronger and just plain feel healthier than I ever did in my 20s! I do weights 2-3 times a week and cardio 2-3 times a week with a yoga class stuck in there somewhere, but 3 times a week for weights is often what is recommended. I think that at 3 times a week, you'll probably quickly find the 5 pounders to not be enough of a challenge for some exercises. They're good to keep around though! Depending on the exercise I'm doing, I now use anywhere between 8 and 25 pounds. They can be expensive, so I'd keep an eye out at second stores or facebook yard sales posts.1

I would do this.

Then get a Kettlebell and do this-

Here are a couple of videos that show correct form.

Pavel Tsatsouline Author and coach of Olympic athletes wrote the book simple and sinister. He states that you can do kettle bell swings's every day unless you don't want to. Also you will burn approximately 20 cal per minute because it is a HI IT work out combined with strength building. You will get the muscle after burn. Make sure you take your measurements!1 -
