I strangely lost my sweet tooth over the last few years.

Has anyone else lost their desire for sweets? I have enjoyed them less and less over the last few years. When I was thin, I loved sweets. I could eat a pan of brownies in a day or two. As I gained more and more weight, my desire for sweet was replaced with a desire for spicy. My desire for fried and cheese-coated food also increased. Has anyone else experienced this? I wonder if my sweet tooth will return when I'm no longer overweight.

I did too. And even when I was not doing strict low carb it stayed that way. I used to hate dark chocolate and coffee unless I had about eight packets of sugar in it. Sadly, I'm not exaggerating. I started with three packets of sweetener and cut down a half packet at a time. I can easily do a half packet now, tho I usually do a scant full packet just cause it's a pain carrying a half packet to the next day. I can't stand the sweetness of regular Coke or Diet Coke anymore. I drink flavored seltzer water instead - the kind that's just water and flavor with no artificial sweetness.
I think it's all about what you train your body to get used to as "normal". I never would have imagined I could drink a coffee with one Truvia pkt and enjoy it. I've even had no sweetener in it, and it's drinkable.1 -
This is what happened to me too, and it amazes me. I can walk right by a bakery now with no cravings whatsoever! love what keto does for me.0

I was at a get together over Labor Day and there was a bowl of Maxi M&Ms sitting on the table. I snatched one and popped it in my mouth. It was as tasty as ever! I don't crave that stuff anymore but could easily slip in that direction. It did no harm. Previously I would not have been able to leave it alone.
When I was on vacation a couple months ago a friend reminded me of how I was compulsively eating candy corn at her house last halloween.1 -
Thanks for your stories, everyone. My sweet tooth left before I started LCHF. I've only been following this WOE for 3.5 weeks. I'm sure my lack of sweet tooth helped me in that first week.2

Would love to say that I lost my "sweet tooth" but unfortunately I was born with it and I will probably die with it. This woe contains it but it will always be lurking under the surface.4

Same here. As long as I eat no sweets I don't think of them. And when I do try something it all tastes much too sweet.
BUT now I can see how easy it is to want more and more. That happened every time I tried to include fruit, one apple soon was all the apples in sight. I've seen many times apples used as an example of an healthy food that is impossible to overeat, all I can say is they've not met me. And I can only imagine it would be even worse with processed sweets. ::sigh::
