What do you eat?

I'm a little unwell at the mo and have lost my taste for meat. I have some tuna and some shellfish and some vegetarian hotdogs which are about a carb each.

I also like cheesy things and have halloumi and mozarella as standard but am off eggs too right now.

What vegetarian or non-meaty low carb meals do you like?

    Low carb veggies, cheeses, olives and avocado are usually good foods to add.

    If ever i don't feel like cooking and have the carbs for it, I like plain Greek yogurt (Fage Total) with unsweetened coconut, slivered almonds and a bit of stevia. It's a bit carby for me but not too bad net carb wise. Makes for a good 600 calorie dinner.

    What kind of shell fish? My go to is shrimp sauteed in butter and Old Bay or butter and garlic. Scampi without the rice. The latter I like to dump over raw baby spinach which will semi wilt,

    The shrimp is my easiest and most filling meal... just pull the tails and put garlic butter on top! About 220 calories and perfect macros :)

    I try to stay under 25g carbs a day, ideally under 20.

    Shrimp (prawns over here) and scallops are my go-to shellfish. I'm not a huge fish eater but sometimes have a boil in the bag haddock in butter sauce - I can only stomach that every so often but shellfish I would eat more of if it weren't so expensive!

    I definitely eat a lot of cheese and veggies, mostly cucumber, spring onion (scallions), aubergine (eggplant), courgette, leeks, broccoli, cabbage. Courgette baked in a creamy mushroom sauce with cheese is a fav.

    I also have soya yogurt which is even lower carb than Greek, and tastes nicer to me. It's very low calorie, too.

    I also have some quorn vegetarian products, the ones that are low carb.

    I like tofu but only when other people cook it for me, I've never managed to get it right myself.

    I don't eat red meat. I usually eat whole fat plain yogurt, peanut butter, cheese, eggs and tofu. I also like textured vegetable protein (TVP) and have figured out how to season it so it's pretty good as a base for a Mexican casserole. By that I mean, just seasoned TVP in a small dish, melt cheese on top in microwave, add homemade guacamole. Maybe add a spoonful of sour cream or yogurt on top, too. Hot sauce and a side of crisps made out of cheese as my "nachos" to spoon the casserole onto for each bite. So yum.

    I like Eden Organic Black Soy Beans. They are 1 net carb per half cup. They are also rather flavorless, but with your favorite flavorings, add an interesting texture to a low carb diet. Whole Foods has them, or I order them by the 12-can carton from Amazon.
